1988-1994 had the square dash, and 1995 to 1998 and 1999 and 2000 classic.1988-1993 had the same grill, which changed it in 1994 which continued all the way till 1998 and 1999-2000 classic body styles. 1988-1995 had the same engine and changed it to the vortec in 1996 to 1998 (1999-2000 classic). They used the 700r4 from 1988-1992, and changed to thr 4l60e in 1993 with a few changes, such as 1993-1994 are compatible with each other 1995 is a odd ball year, 1996-1998 I believe are the same.
