I'm an Indigo employee and we recently got the Story Engine box in. I've been telling all my coworkers and customers about it and it's my staff pick. Hopefully I can get some extra sales for you!
@@StoryEngineDeck on our internal discussion board someone told us that! Said they used to work with you there and was really happy for your success. I don't think I can give out names but I thought you might appreciate the sentiment still :)
It's a great bundle! There's a wee chance the prices will be increasing in a month or two, but if you miss the window, feel free to contact me via BackerKit and I should be able to adjust the price for you manually so you're getting the original price.
Absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on these. I have the Story Engine and love, love, love it. So the Deck of Worlds will be the most wonderful addition. I think the quality of the artwork and everything about the cards is awesome. I have to say, when I ordered the Story Deck in March, I got it pretty much within two weeks. I was stoked. Can't wait to see more!
The decks look absolutely gorgeous already, so it's amazing that the quality will improve when it moves to the full print run. This was an excelent look at the deck, and I'm looking forward to seeing more demos over the coming months while I wait for my copy to arrive from Kickstarter.
Hi Tommy! I don't have plans for that at the moment, but it's something I'll give some thought to! That said, every Landmark card has an option for something more or less "urban" (loosely defined as an area or feature that a person had built or developed). You could likely start with one more or CITY Region cards to start and then build a sprawling micro-setting with multiple "urban" Landmarks that each form the heart of a different district. Every Attribute, Origin, and Advent card has at least one cue designed to work in a populated area, so you should be able to build out some interesting neighbourhoods!
In your trials - how often does it happen to you that you draw a card that simply does not fit with the other cards? This demo was great and the Hissing Grasslands sound like an amazing living place. But some of the choices felt kinda obvious. Meaning that the other 3 choices didn't fit as well as the chosen one did. What happens if the one good choice isn't there? Do you just draw another card? Do you work extra hard to come up with a way to make one of the choices interesting? I know that it's just a tool and it's up to use on how we use the tool. And I imagine all of these questions are answered in a manual or another post somewhere. But in case they aren't - what would be your recommendation on handling a not so fitting draw?
Great question! I'd say that every 2 or 3 micro-settings or so, I'll get one card where I just don't intuitively see a cue that connects to the setting I'm trying to create. What I do depends on my goals for writing/creation in that session. If I'm just looking to create something and enjoy the creative process without friction, I discard and redraw without hesitation. I'm usually just not in the headspace to have to problem-solve how to fit the card into the world I'm creating, and that's okay. If I'm looking to hone my creative craft OR break my usual creative autopilot and extend my comfort zone, I will slow down my creative process and spend a few minutes brainstorming ways to either take more interest in the cues on the card, or find interesting ways to connect those cues to the setting I'm working on. Sometimes I'll even go back and change an earlier cue choice by rotating a card I already placed so that I can create more synchronicity between cards. And if, after a few minutes, I'm still not getting anything from that card (which happens sometimes), I'll discard and redraw.
Dude. The whole area Hissing Grasslands and the adventure would literally drop right into Numenera. No modification. That's amazing!
I haven't had a chance to play Numenera yet, but it's been on my try list forever!
@@StoryEngineDeck Absolutely worth your time. One of my all-time favorite games/properties for the sheer amount of the fantastical in it.
Very cool!
I am SUPER excited!
I waaaaaant it!
Damn I'm hyped. This is going to be amazing when it's complete. Very excited backer here.
I'm already getting excited for when the first full production copies come in. That's when it feels 100% real!

Oh wow, thank you so much! I worked as a CER at the old John & Richmond Chapters in Toronto, so getting the deck in stores was a dream come true!

@@doom_chicken I definitely do appreciate the sentiment, and I have a couple of guesses who it might be!
As soon as I am able, I intend to get everything in the mega-bundle.

Thanks so much! I'm hoping to start recording more demos in May!
Looks really nice. Fingers crossed for getting my grubby paws on these in October :)
I'm chomping at the bit to get these out to people!
What a fantastic video and brainstorming of a fun story! Love it. Looking forward to receiving my own Deck of Worlds in a few months.
Can't wait to get these shipping! I wish October would hurry up!
Can't wait to get my hands on this!
Oh these look gorgeous! I can't wait to get my copy. Any plans for a urban environment expansion 👀 I'd love to use this to build out neighborhoods

PS: I've added this to my notes for the Experimental Playmodes stretch goal PDF!
