    I have had a Lasko tower fan that has what looks like that same blade assembly in it (and a very similar looking motor) since around 2009. It has been used nonstop all Summer long every year since I've had it.
    I have only had to take it apart and clean it and lubricate it once in a while to keep it going. I like that the DREO ones appear to be designed at least to make it easy to get the blades out and clean them and lubricate the bearings.
    This style of fan really puts out nice air

    Bldc or ECM Or called inverter motor can be both high and low voltage. In HVAC that's what they're known as.

      Its still a BSL 3 phase motor.3 wires. 3 coils a-b, b-c, a-c.

    Here it's a DIY franken stand fan (axial) powered by a 50+ y/o reel to reel motor, reassembled 12 years ago, still kickin'!
    IMO these cross-flow squirrel cage fans are the future, NOT those Dyson-type "bladeless" ones (which is not even true, the impeller and motor is just hidden in the base); but, I haven't fully wrapped my head around how exactly cross-flow fans work yet. They are a bit counter-intuitive.
    However I can't care less about an app and all the options that I don't need for such a simple thing at its core tech (motor & impeller). Maybe I'm too old fashioned. 🤷‍♂

    I actually recently got this fan and for some reason the remote stopped working. I know it’s not the remote because I have 2 other Dreo tower fans and remotes and they work on those just fine. I tried doing a factory reset but it doesn’t seem to do much. How do you do a factory reset?

    The problem i have with tower fans is that the bearing on the top side of the blower wheel usually craps out pretty fast and these type fans are almost always a mess to take apart and oil. Not all not all but most of the ones I've used and I'm in the south USA where fans run almost 24/7

    Question I got this top loading VCR turns on plays an image but then stops it doesn't move doesn't go backwards or forwards goes in plays and then stops The light bulb inside is burnt out but I don't know how to replace it and I don't know if that's the only problem anybody could help

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It may be an IR LED which you won't see. If the bulb was burnt out it wouldn't even go into play at all. Its probably a worn out idler tire and the take yup spool isn't turning, or it could be a broken counter belt as some machines used the turning counter (mechanical counter) to operate the emergency stop for reel detection.

    The fan you disassembled completely (Cruiser Pro T1/T2) does NOT have the same components as the Pilot Max S. Most importantly, the Pilot Max S has a brushless motor.

      They both have brushless motors. 3 wires is 3 windings. 3 phase brushless motor.

    i got a fan my brother gave me a few years ago and right now its in my bedroom window blowing fresh air into my apartment on the 6th floor where i live that shit is just garbage land fill its a fan it should only be electric it should never be electronic gimmick wait until they decide that fan is obsolete

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  หลายเดือนก่อน

      How do you buy in thats obsolete. Nobody is forcing you to use the app or connect it. You can just use it as a fan. The remote capability is nice however. If I forget to turn it off after going up stairs for example I can shut it off. For the ac, if its hot in the shop I can turn it on as I am on my way home from say a parts run and the shop is cool when I get home to start working. It's only Slimy American companies like sonos, bose and Apple that pull that shit.
      Microsoft just stops supporting their old versions but don't kill them. Let's not forget that scumbag musk with his subscription model that has everyone else jumping on the bandwagon to pay a monthly fee for heated seats. Next it will be air conditioning in cars. The problem is people that are a little bit lower on the intelligent scale buy into this and pay the fee. Had everyone said fuk that I'm not paying that would send a message. But the masses accept this crap so everyone thinks if tesla gets away with this we want a piece too and they do the same.

      @@12voltvids - Microsoft actually actively obsoletes old Windows systems, practically killing them off, and with that computers too that aren't compatible with new versions. They are pretty hardcore about that.
