i think kapkan is one of the op's that just shouldn't be touched, it's always been if there's kapkans on a door your walk through it without checking you're dead
R6 is forgetting that the core element of the game is its gunplay which DIRECTLY translates to the importance and significance of fragging. An operator shouldn’t be brought down bc they frag, that makes zero sense. Every operator has its own play style and tailored kit which translates to how they may affect each round. It’s not like valorant where every op has the same gun and what turns the tides is the ability they possess, I feel like r6 is starting to lean in that direction and it’s causing ops to feel less and less unique. Due to the mechanics of the core game, even with how slow and botched they feel right now, ops should be balanced prioritizing their ability to handle themselves in a gunfight, ability to hold a room or take over a room. At this games core it is a CQC (close quarters combat) sandbox where the difference between a round won or lost is how well you can deny or conquer anywhere from a whole section of a map to even just 5sq/ft. Abilities should only assist in doing so by providing extra hazards for attackers to be weary of and extra pressure for defenders to resist. Take sledge and zof, both are soft destruction and room clearing kings/queens, zof ability to breach and stun is unparalleled and should be paired with a swift and deadly kit. But now she feels slow and cumbersome, even awkward at times because by the time you open and stun an area the amount of ground you can cover and how effectively is hindered by the lack of mobility and quite frankly the gun just doesn’t compete with someone like alibi right now. Or sledge who can enter a room and present dominance with a powerful gun and frags. Not anymore, he’s slow and cumbersome as well, with his close in nature ability you can’t capitalize on breaking a hole through the defenders set up because once the area you’ve decided to open is accessible any slew of 3 or even 2 speed defenders can quickly reposition whilst you’re still trying to gain a foothold.
a great way to balance would keep the acog and then add back the 1.5 as a close range option that DEFENDERS can use instead and then attackers get acog, with doc i feel its also because he has a good gun and they use him as a fragger for the self heal and revive, an acog removal wont change jack
ACOGs being strictly set to 1 speeds on DEF makes a solid bit of sense to me. Goyo & Vigil are prime examples of OPs who aren’t 1 speed and have them. Goyo at 2 spd (Vector), Vigil at 3 spd (BOSG). Vigil also is the closest OP I can think of that gets up to that ‘Fragger’ Role aside from Doc.
I like Ram you can do a special trick with his gadget like placing one on top of bomb room then walk downstairs to the bomb room. then start the first machine and right away launch the next to open a barricaded door or a wall the upper machine will bait Opponents to be distracted while they most likely cant hear you. thinking you're still above
Also, I think your take on the whole ‘F2 not making much sense on Twitch due to her role’ also makes a lot of sense. It’s like Deimos & Nomad. Another OP w/ F2 Foregrip should exist. It wouldn’t hurt the game in the slightest.
A solution to docs pickrate would be to buff other defenders and very slightly nerf doc, like make the stim heal over like 30 seconds or something, so that if you refrag your tm8 quick enough the 110 dmg they did to doc actually matters
having it last 30 seconds is far too long, tbh isntead of full hp + overheal, if they just make it heal to full hp but have it do 50% instantly and the other 50% over time 1hp per second seems like a good spot for it imo
7:07 sorry but this is such a shit take by kudos, you can't petition for defense acog removal based on the fact doc has the highest pick rate by a mile lmao, like rook, castle, vigil, goyo, aruni etc all have acogs too and their pick rate is in line with everybody else. Doc's pick rate is and always will be so high because he's such a noob friendly operator to play with free heals, the acog is just a bonus, but it isn't oppresive
In MY opinion they need to buff the P90s damage its does 22-24 with extended, every gun in the game feels reliable but the P90 till the point it’s considered a meme/troll gun. That’s why I think they should buff its damage up to 35 and maybe nerf the rpm down to 800-700s in case it makes it op with the damage buff. A pistol is more reliable than the P90 like come on ubi
To add on to this: How are SMGs/carbines doing *less* damage than pistols that use the same caliber? The P90 shoots 5.7. The actual 5.7 pistol does 42 damage.. nearly double a gun with a longer barrel, more bullet velocity and higher RPM. Same thing with the vector and .45 pistols. That’s half the reason the SMGs feel like peashooters, and i get that 3-4 bullets to kill on a gun that shoots that fast might be OP, but when any bullet can one shot it kinda stops mattering. Until those SMGs get a realistic buff they’re always gonna be a shadow under the better weapon available, such as the MP5. Maybe not for the vector considering it’s usually the best primary available for those ops but still. Especially when you can slap an Acog on the MP5 and pop heads from anywhere on the map, no one’s gonna choose something like Solis P90 with a holo, it’s just playing with a nerf when other characters have better options
People pick Doc bc you don’t have to set up and you/teammate can be aggressive and get health back. People want to pick ops to be lazy on set up is all.
You're looking at it the wrong way, there isn't doc being healer first fragger second and vice versa, there is only both. Every operator is extremely capable of fragging out and just because you remove a ACOG in an atempt to make an operator less lethal isnt going to "balance" the game. the inherent ability of getting more health is always gonna be abused, therefore Doc Isn't a healer first or fragger first inherently, it depends on the player, and when confident players find a charecter that gives them that extra frag potential they are going to exploit it as long as he keeps that ability. Yeah maybe it would decrease the playerbase a bit but what is the point if there is no guarentee the new remaining Doc playerbase arnt just going to run around self stimming. I saw you play bandit mp7 not putting a single gadget down using him to frag, do we gotta decrease his speed and remove his mp7 because people arnt using his gadgets?
that doesn't really change anything though, people have an issue with like 5 ops having acog, you think they'll be happy with 15 having 2x lmao? Me personally I have no issues with acog as it stands, but if they are going to change it then just give the current defense acog ops the 1.5x back instead
If they make everyone viable then its gonna be balanced. Theres always that one or two ops better than everyone else because they weren't nerfed as bad, they need to make everyone good, not bad
