So unfair on respawn's part. There's a lot of teams playing as duos that couldn't make it because of covid or visa issues. They should've set up a system so they could play from a far. I guarantee you, if the players that were missing were players from TSM, NRG, OG, etc. They would've made an exemption. Fair play to Pulverex and DG that have been doing pretty good as duos.
@@BigSuzpekt well other teams had substitutes ready, look at Rkn subbing for iG, but it isn't that easy for APAC teams to get subs in Raleigh because of the language barrier

Newcastle opened the possibilities, as they started to look into new comps to counter Gibbys, so on SP people using Watson and Newcastle with Valk, and a lot of Seers came into play on WE, its fun! But Gibby still prevails strong

Loving this tournament and the variety though. Now if only we can buff legends so we can see legends like lifeline, mirage, pathfinder, etc. especially lifeline. 6:09 is the key flaw with Newcastle. Such a fun character but if any legend achieves highround the team is absolutely fucked. A Newcastle with a Gibby would genuinely be crazy, don't think any team has tried that yet. Bottomline is Newcastle cant replace Gibbster.
The issue is combining a gibby and newcastle means that they have to drop caustic, horizon, wattson, etc. You're replacing a more offensive legend for a more passive one. We know a valk will not be dropped, especially if its in storm point.

I’m sure there’s a reason teams haven’t run a gibby valk and Newcastle team. I think it’s because you lose a solid 2nd entry fragger when you use two support legend.
