Absolutely glorious performance of my favourite symphony. When I’m feeling down I just close my eyes and listen to this majestic composition and I can see the beautiful country side where my mother was born ( Casablanca, a small country town in Valparaiso, 🇨🇱 Chile) where the earth is so fertile and I enjoy few years of my childhood. Surrounded by wildflowers, fruit trees a lovely lake and a nearby creek. Just the most enjoyable pastoral life. Love Beethoven.
This is also my favorite symphony.
Nature captured in all its perfection, serenity and beauty through music.

J'ai 82 ans et ce concert me rappelle mon oncle Pierrot qui mettait toujours ce disque chez lui (en se faisant disputer par son père) et mon tonton me reviens en mémoire.... Merci pour cette merveille

The smaller orchestra is perfect for Beethoven. The instruments have great clarity. Dynamics and tempo is excellent. As good as it gets. Bravo.

One of my favorite Beethoven's symphonies.
I've never seen a conductor take such obvious joy in the music he was conducting. Many conductors seem to approach the jobs as a chore to be dispensed with. And the joy is contagious.

Marvellous!!! If my father were here, he would be in plain joy. I remember my childhood. Whith my father, I used to listen to this symphony when I was about three years old.

When the world seems like a big forlorn place, this symphony reminds us of the deepest beauty there is. Beethoven is giving us a song to experience that beauty with.

A fine performance from the orchestra and sensitive interpretation from the conductor of this supreme masterpiece. Perfect tempo and wonderful clarity.
One of the great things about this piece is how it can go from soft as a whisper in some sections and then become bursting with energy and verve mere moments later. Super performance here, and of course Yannick Nézet-Séguin is a joy to behold as he guides the group.
I do enjoy how this timeless music has been used in films and television over the decades-- from The Simpsons (season 2, episode 9, "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge" in which all the children in Springfield finally venture outdoors to play in the fresh air; it's a lovely sequence, both the music and the animation) to the dystopian 70's film Soylent Green.

My daughter was born while this piece was playing in our room. In fact, I'm told that it was at 24:15 in the score (at 7:44 pm on 2/25/1997) that she first drew breath to cry. I don't remember but I wish I did.

Mr. Nezet-Seguin understands Beethoven very, very well, and he brings out the best in this well lubricated, finely tuned orchestra. The players enjoy listening to each other and they play in the most musically charming manner possible. There is joy all around!
This sixth symphony has a unique flavor, and I could recognize it anywhere, anytime, as I can do with a few other conductors.

I love the wasy the Maestro conducts with so much joy, enthusiasm and expression giving already the beautiful symphony that little extra touch that Beethoven would have been proud of.
I try to imagine the feelings that Beethoven experienced as the themes of this Pastoral symphony gathered in his imagination. The finished symphony is his attempt to present the emotions of those inspired moments. If they were actually any better than he depicts them here, then he was a truly fortunate human.

Solo oboe amazing ....as the rest of the orchestra . The conductor seems able to create a feeling of chamber ensemble without loosing the grander organization . Great listening !

Beethoven is a great poet of Nature
Nezet-Sequin and these great musicians bring out the warmth of the piece; you can understand why Nezet-Sequin was appointed music director of the Met.
Yannick is fascinating to watch. An inspirational conductor. A gorgeous performance, perhaps the best I can remember. So glad I'll be hearing him lead the Philadelphia Orchestra this fall.

Wonderful! The use of natural trumpets in combination with modern woodwinds is particularly praiseworthy. The playing and interpretation are terrific.

Debe ser una "gozada" Tocar bajo la dirección de ese Director, lleva a la orquesta donde quiere q vaya con un entusiasmo q contagia, y la orquesta responde magníficamente, gozando, divirtiéndose, y entregándose totalmente. Es genial!!!

Pastoral à souhait!!!!!Je suis dingue de ce chef. Depuis 3 jours j'écoute toutes les versions.....J'ai retenu Wyng mhung Chun, pour une version magnifique, une peinture idéale d'un paysage. Mais sans personne dedans. Avec Yannik, c'est plein de monde , d'émotions de toute nature et de délire!!!(la scène érotique près du ruisseau!!!!)

In my opinion the two most beautiful compositions Beethoven has presented to us are the pastoral and his piano sonata nicknamed the moonlight sonata

Music, the beauty is in the eyes of beholder. Yannick and COE were a perfect match in my ears. The music was the right tempo, right emphasis, right emotion, credits to the conductor, it was also clear and crispy, credits to the orchestra. Afterwards, I listened to several other contemporary conductors and orchestra, none is as good. Yannick and COE are going to be the gold standard for Beethoven #6 for a while.
