This works. I had my daughter on 12/14/21. A water birth. I didn’t even have to push. She came out on her own terms as my body assisted. I didn’t tear or anything. Labor was also very fast.
The very important thing to know about up breathing is that it is on that lovely long.slow.relaxed out breath that we produce oxytocin, the hormone that facilitates the working of the uterine muscles in labour. This is why the up breathing works so well.
I want all of your videos the same day I was at the hospital about to give birth I showed them to my husband. And omg!!!! I don't how my labor would have been without your videos. They worked!!! All of them. Thank you so much for making simple straight to the point videos.
Thank you so much for these videos! These techniques helped me deliver my baby naturally. I used this to breathe through nine hours of labor and I used down breathing for the pushing phase. I only had to push for three minutes before I delivered. It was so empowering and I could not have been more satisfied with my birthing experience.
The best technique to know during birthing. This made pregnancy easy💃💃. Thanks for the tips couldn't ave done it without u and God.. 9lbs baby boy is here.
The best thing about your video is how short and to the point it is. It really helped me before and I'm so glad I found it again. Thank you so much. I really appreciate what you are doing.
This helped me sooooo much!!!! These breathing techniques and especially breathing down and horse lips as Ina May Gaskins instructs!!! I had a 6 hour birth on dec. 20th compared to my 18 hour other births with my 2 other kids! It helped with pain management too!!! I wanted to give up at one point just like with my other births but i knew that was tranditiom! I almost hyperventilated but then my support person reminded me to breathe and use horse lips and I calmed down and did it!!!! Thank you soooo much!
You putting it like that really makes keeping calm in labour seem so achievable 4 rounds of breath abd the Contractions done really helps to "put the end in sight" new subscriber here ❤️ 25 weeks pregnant with my first son and my first time exploring hypnobirthing ❤️ planning a home vbac this time ❤️❤️❤️
I found you through Hannah Michalak and am so enjoying watching all of your videos. I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby and just by listening to you for a few minutes each time explaining about the 'process' (not quite the right word I know !) of giving birth I feel like I've learnt so much more than from any book and am excited to learn more as the weeks go on and eventually go into my labour in a positive mindset. I'll be sitting down with my husband to watch these again many times!
Thank you soooo much for your incredible videos, they are all so informative and simple to understand and more importantly implement during labour. 3 weeks ago I had the most amazing, calm, positive and dare I say it ‘pain free’ labour and birth (planned water home birth), there was definitely intense tightenings and sensations but nothing I couldn’t handle by up breathing throughout the surges. I kept ‘hearing’ you counting and you are right, by the end of the fourth breath there was a break in the tightenings in which to look forward to a rest. I can’t recommend your videos and website enough, and even thou I couldn’t do a hypnobirthing course of yours (due to living in NZ) it still made for a positive second birth experience after a not so positive first birth. Many thanks!
You are a miracle. Thank you so much for these short but definitely informative videos. I feel relaxed and I'm not even ready to have my baby yet...I feel confident and really empowered....Thank You
My hypnobirthing instructor was saying to inhale and exhale through nose . I see that you are exhaling through much which is easier for me. Which one is the right way please?
Here at PBC we teach "Up Breathing" to help you stay relaxed and calm. This technique can be used for life not just for birth! Its used for mindfulness, insomnia and anxiety amongst other things! Inhale through your nose for 4 and exhale slowly through your mouth for 6-8 in rep's of 4. Hope this helps x
I LOVE watching these videos. They are such a great resource and make so much sense. My question is: the labor until transition can be quite long. Is the 4:8 breath supposed to carry me through hours of surges? Visual points, music, etc. I'm sure can supplement but doing these breaths for so long seems so difficult!
It's a good idea to start practicing those breathing exercises right from the get go so that you make a habit of it as your labor progresses! Practice in early labor will make it a lot easier to keep up later on 😉
The Positive Birth Company only recently discovered Hypno about 2 weeks ago and due in 2 weeks now (eek!) So trying to learn as much as I can as I don't have time to do a course now. Wish I had found you sooner. Just trying to practice as much as I can and hope it will help. Will be pointing people in your direction for sure!
Why do I find 4 seconds/8 seconds too long??? Like uncomfortably long? I’m only 23 weeks pregnant, so not heavily pregnant. Could I do this instead for maybe 4 seconds in/4seconds out?
Start practicing! Make sure your breath out is longer than your breath in. Do 4 in, 5 or 6 out if that's easier for you. If you practice every day, you will eventually be able to do 4 in/8 out.
I went into labour feeling fully prepared & joyful, having practiced my up-breathing and down-breathing etc.. I was promptly surprised by how LITTLE these techniques helped!!! The pain was horrendous. As I later found out, my baby was posterior (my midwife was inexperienced so she kept telling me baby was in the right position?! 🤷🏻♀️ But no, he definitely wasn't!). I had terrible, terrible back labour! Pain I could have never even imagined if I hadn't experienced it first-hand.... I'm sure that these techniques help a lot if your baby is in the right position but sadly, for me, this didn't even touch the pain! I now have a new-found appreciation for modern medical science & epidurals. They were invented and are being used during births for a reason! I wish someone would have told me that yes, labour can hurt super badly and that doesn't mean that you're not "breathing correctly". Your pain is valid. Congrats to the ladies who were able to have an unmedicated, natural, easy birth. I know that if they would have felt the pain I have (eg if their baby would have been in the incorrect position, getting stuck, not descending after 12+ hours of active labour etc..), they would have probably opted for an epidural too 🙂👍
I dont think any one of these youtubers are claming labor will be painless with their techniques, they're just teaching ways that help you cope with the pain. Even with all the meds they can offer at the hospital, giving birth still hurts a lot. There's no escaping the pain. Even if they put you to sleep and do a C-section, you'll still have pain, it's just delayed to when you wake up and start recovery. And I'm sorry about your birthing experience. Absolutely no shame in epidurals etc, they were indeed invented for a reason! Natural or not, doesn't really matter as long as baby and mom make it out safe.

Congrats!
Hallelujah! I’m hoping and praying for the same thing 🙏🏾
Awesome

I followed your techniques with my son in Nov 2021. Due with another boy in little over week, just getting some refresher training because wow
Its great to hear you have come back for a refresher, exciting news on your very imminent baby! You've got this!
Thanks for the explanation about actually when to use the breath. I have watched so many videos now and that was still unclear. 😊
It worked for me! Thank you so much for sharing this technique🌷.
Great quick description of the BEST breathing technique! Thanks for sharing
Your very pretty by the way. And thank you for your information!

Thank you so much for your tips :-)
So the up breathing is for contractions and the down breathing is for when we feel the urge to push and baby is transitioning down the vaginal canal?
Correct! x
Thank youuuu
My due date is a week away, I love your videos and your app
Stephanie tv how was it?

Start 1:38
I can't even breathe out for 8 secs. and im not pregnant. I only got to six
Lol I'm 26wks and only got to 5
Have you got a video for down breathing?
The Positive Birth Company thanks! I found it. Finding it quite hard to get the hang of what you mean by breathing down.
The Positive Birth Company only recently discovered Hypno about 2 weeks ago and due in 2 weeks now (eek!) So trying to learn as much as I can as I don't have time to do a course now. How do I know when to breathe up?
when contractions just start and you're not fully dilated, you use breathing up :)
