What Fun!!! Love Bonsai!!! Grew a few years ago. Also the family who's greenhouses I took care of specialized in bonsai's... They had over 200 types, some were stolen, and only a handful recovered. But they also had orchids which was my dept. And they had camellias, roses, and a Japanese tea garden all set up... Lots of enjoyment and learned a Lot!!
Thanks Alex,🍻 some of these tree's were way over the top. 👍👍👍

What an interesting insight!! That’s tragic that bonsai were stolen, that’s so many years of training lost!

Wow! That last ancient tree was amazing. Was it found like that or have generations of people been involved in it’s care? Have to say my favorite style is the forest style. Thanks for sharing.

I also love the forest style! Typically I’ve seen bonsai labeled as “in training for XX years,” instead of just their age. That gives you a better idea for the artistry behind the tree. For some reason these trees were labeled as “XX years old.”
My guess is that the final tree was collected as a mature tree, a natural bonsai of sorts, and then was refined some time in the last few generations. That’s just a guess though!!!
