I hope you enjoy this project I've been devoting myself to during the quarantine! For a chance to be featured in part 2, show me YOUR quarantine art projects! Doesn't have to be just photography. DM me on Instagram, @joshkatz, or email me through my website. Cheers!
I absolutely love this. I especially appreciate your stance on not being voyeuristic and sharing the pictures and such. The shots are amazing and I love the behind the scenes!
i love your photography so much, it’s so important to be photographing what’s going on right now. these photos are going to be so important in the future, i can only dream of taking photos like these. you really inspire me!! i’m a huge fan. this video deserves more recognition. this is so beautiful
this is so amazing! i've always admired the super-intertwined connection between new yorkers. and i love your photos, you do a really good job of capturing emotion! i'm an aspiring photographer and this was really inspiring for me. thank you, and keep it up!
Josh, i just want to say how much i truly LOVED this video and *love* the project. i enjoy going on insta every few days to see the latest edition to this series. to me, some of the information felt like it seeped into sociology, which i found especially captivating. it’ll be so interesting to see where things go after this chaos settles down, and until then, it’s so cool to see the myriad of ways people in NYC are utilizing their rooftops as short-term respites-to dance, play music, paint, go on a first date, etc.
Josh this is a brilliant video and your whole photo series so far on Instagram! Community is definitly the most important thing we have during this time and it's amazing to see new ones formed, keep up the incredible work I'm exited to see what moments you capture, there is a beautifull energy and light captured through this series I have to say. Stay safe, much love from Ireland
I caught some of your footage on TikTok the other day. What a fascinating slice of life! Excited to see more. Stay safe and be careful climbing up and down that sketchy ladder!
Josh i've been following you for so long now. I just want to say I think it's awesome to see your development through the years. You are my favourite photographer and I hope you're safe and well!
This was absolutely beautiful, it'd be cool to see you try and maybe put a nostalgic feel on some photos, possibly using a super 8 film camera or maybe a 16mm type of feel.
I always enjoy your videos. You have an intelligent and upbeat perspective with whatever project you're working on, and this one is incredible. You are creating human value by connecting with your neighbors and tying them together into a community mosaic....that's powerful. The only question I have is how are you "meeting" these people? Are you close enough to yell? It sounded like you're posting your photos somewhere, and then people recognize themselves or their friends, and then contact YOU...?
I love this so much; absolutly adored your creativity and your ability to remain positive during this time !!!! (ps. loved the featured blunt) (p.p.s). I thought baby pigeons were a myth (they're from the government..so this is my first ever time seeing a baby pigeon) and also I hope this gets more attention because it is honestly a work of art in its truest, and most pure form. So much love xxo
I noticed you talking about tagging the people on instagram or emailing the people their photos that you took of them. How do you get their info if you were too far to shout to them? Love the video.

Hi from the rooftops of Soho, London
These photos are going to be historical when people look back at this in the future generations
I can not get enough of the emotion and authenticity being captured here. It’s so incredibly human.
so much joy of life in a single video during such a dark time
this is great roof content, and i'm gonna let you finish, but jaws had some of the best roof content of all time this quarantine
True that
I'm sorry no one jumped off the roof in this. Just can't compete with Jaws these days.
i really like this project and how there is a sense of community. Not only photographing, but making the world a better place with those photos.
Alex Ama also, the way he tries to contact the people he photographs to give them the photos is such a simple, but stunning, detail.

The connections currently happening in this city are so special to watch and document. New Yorkers are a resilient bunch!
This is a huge art, think you captured the uncertainty of quarentine vibes perfectly, thanks for this.
This was amazing. Incredible photos and was cool to hear and see behind-the-scenes and thought process. Can't wait for the next one man!
Means a lot from you, Mike! Hope you’re holding up alright out there

Glad to hear it! Been on a sociology reading kick as of late and this series has been my testing that observational muscle!
Ahh love this! So cool that this is so close to where I live. Your photos are so authentic, I love it
If you're up on your roof, be careful with the nose picking - I've got a big zoom lens :)
This is the most beautiful project I've seen in a long time, thanks

Thanks man! Definitely been doing a lot of yelling whenever they’re close enough.
Really nice work kid! You've inspired me to scale my fire escape to see what's happening here :)
I love this so much; absolutly adored your creativity and your ability to remain positive during this time

Hopefully I can capture some alien-esque lights one night to put the conspiracy theorists back in check.

What's the name of that intro song, couldn't find it anywhere in the links, might just be my stupidity tho
Nice vid!

That's Baseball Gregg's "The Breeze". Link to their bandcamp in the video description.
