I kinda miss that old double but like where the new quad puts you higher so you can get rumor from it.. lower Steilhang has only been open for one trip to gore.. love the drops and huge bumps!!! Now they changed the entrance a bit too.. thanks bro
Nicely done video, especially showing the exits and such for adjacent trails. Gore has the most challenging terrain in the east, and would eclipse Mad River, Smuggs, and Magic for challenge. Except patrol doesn't let anyone ski anything challenging. I used to ski Gore ten to twenty days a year, even had a season pass in 2018. Won't ski it anymore because of Gore's patrol - buncha pussies who can't ski anything challenging and their egos make them think if they can't ski it, no one else can, so the ropes come up. In all my time (~50 days) at Gore, Lower Stielhang was open once. Upper Darby was NEVER open. Not once. Upper Double Barrel was NEVER open. Darkside was open three times, I love those glades as well as the cliffs. And the last time I was there that was all I skied, lap after lap, loving it. Then patrol put up the rope a little after 1:00. What the actual fuck? I was the only one running it all day, conditions hadn't changed, it was wonderful. That was the last day I ever skied Gore.

For my money, Open Pit was the best run - just a nice med. steep cruiser top-to-bottom with some fun little bits of trouble to get into off on the sides from time to time. Did "Lies" for the sake of doing it ("The Rumor" closed due to bare spots) - but steeps with bumps on a snowboard is just not all that fun. Still, absolutely one of the best places in the Northeast. Not too many people, down-to-earth sorta vibe, it's not like they're trying to be Northstar or Aspen.

Gore? More challenging than the like of Sugarbush, even in its own state at Whiteface? Idk man Gore is overhyped.

I agree. I love Open Pit as well. Especially with a duck into Mica Park.

Not usually. It is a trail Gore mostly keeps groomed do to pitch.
