Yes, I have about 7-8 videos coming between Denver and Salt lake City. Really there is nothing worth filming outside the cities before you get to Denver, I don't film for the sake of filming, the road has to have some kind of redeeming quality to it.
I remember one time when my family and I were traveling to Cincinnati(back when I lived in Conn) and on I-80 in Pennsylvania traffic was "paralyzed" for a couple hours maybe more. I'll never forget that. 6:20
Here's a quick video idea next time you're in the area: Approach from the north around Thornton or so, on 25 south, make a loop around downtown on East 270, a short jaunt down 70 east bound, then drop down 225, and come back up north again on 25. Makes for a very visually interesting video/experience. I drove that exact route this weekend. Love them freeways up in Denver!
Great video as always Jim! I was wondering where you get the images of the old 1960's maps you put at the beginning of your videos. Are these maps you own? or is there a website you get them from? I love looking at old maps. Also, will you be making any videos from footage of the Salt Lake City area?
It's an informal name, not being from the area I don't know how or why it was chosen. My guess is because of the quirky nature of the original interchange along with it being tough to navigate at that time. I really did not want to waste two text boxes explaining that to be honest.
why can I nit accept the fact that the mousetrap isn't so I'm preside but I still love it... I just love the long ramps I guess... and the way that it's like from the bottom levels.. maybe idk... maybe the history.. idk why I think of it as an awesome interchange when it's not supposed to be.. I've had trouble with this lately that I don't know what it is..
i hate the on ramp to 70 westbound from vasquez , almost got nailed by a 18 wheeler last night that decided to get in the slow lane right as i am merging onto 70.....thank good ness i have great brakes on my truck.
YAY!!! You finally got to Denver! Love your videos no matter where they're filmed! I created a video response of the skyline during the day. Hope you like!
I filmed CT-8 and Glenwood Canyon coming up so curves don't bother me at all, in fact they make for good video. The Parkway just doesn't do anything for me and I-95 in CT is just horrible.
very cool vibe with that music - and very nice ride - again!
Your I-76 footage brought me here again. Thanks!
Cool! Thank you.
Awesome! I had a layover in Denver a few years ago and have an internet friend in Westminster, CO. One of these days I shall visit Denver!

That was amazing; the combined views of the sky and the highway near the beginning are beyond beautiful.
I miss Denver! Thanks for the video and great night tour of the city! Greetings from Great Falls, Montana!
Awesome job as always Jim. I'm chomping at the bit for those Cali videos
Great video and presentation, Jim! I really enjoyed it.
Fantastic job! You picked the right time to film in the evening and had a great dusk sky to work with against the city back drop!
Even at 8:45 PM, there is still light in the sky. It makes the drive very pleasant.
Nice video!
Nice ride and the camera is looking great at night! Looks like a nice place to drive around ... except in the winter.
Great video and an excellent choice of music. It matched the vibe of the city!
Fantastic ride, Jim, and excellent choice of music! (Can't wait your videos about L.A. fwys at night!!!!)

Thanks, glad you liked it, the night videos require a much different mood than the usual fare.
Nice work, Jim! Wish my camera worked as well in the dark as yours does. Thanks for the ride...
Still not over your beautiful intro of Atlanta.
The skies in this video came out beautifully! Your new camera does a damn good job at night! Great work.
Will you do one of vail pass or glenwood canyon on I70? Those offer very amazing scenery
Great video! This helped relieve some of my homesickness! :)
Thank you! I wasn't in Denver very long but it looks like a neat city. I accepted your video response, thanks.
Thank you! The Rockies videos coming next week are pretty special.

Thanks Scott, There was no picking the time here, this was shot literally as we rolled in to town, good luck I'd say!
Beautiful can’t wait to Move here
Thank you!
@Freewayjim, I wonder did you went in and under the Convention Center on Speer??? It's pretty cool!!!
Those are old maps I have, you can get a good size lot for a reasonable amount on ebay with regards to those.
really enjoyed this one - twilight vids are special.
Thanks for watching, glad you liked it!
Thank you very much!
Nothing weird about that! Thanks for watching!
Yes indeed, I went to LA on my trip, have not looked at the footage yet but should have plenty of videos.
Thanks, yes they are fun to work with.
I always look up to the high quality you make it's very good the imagines are so still how do you fix that can you expose that ?
thanks for driving on me, it makes me feel happy that im important.
Thanks, glad you like it!
How did you like Denver? I used to live by I-70. I would advise you to stay off I-25 during rush hour. By the ways thanks for putting it up on TH-cam.
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Am I right? Is Denver, Colorado the state capital of Colorado? And I wish that the light posts were small like Chicago Illinois. :(
Did not have a chance to do that this time around.
Cool I am going to be in Denver this weekend
Denver cool awesome
I like the NJ Turnpike and have a couple videos of parts of it, granted, south of Exit 6 there's nothing to see.
Great video, perfect audio.
Did you drop down into the Four Corners? I was up there last week and it is beautiful, yet desolate.
Are you going to be posting any videos of the roads between the cities?
Thanks, because it was difficult to navigate it its original configuration, Google it to learn more.
Any chance that you'll do an I-95 or Merritt Parkway (Route 15) video from Greenwich, CT through the state?
3:51 shows Hotel VQ. I looked it up on Google Maps and found out it is permanently closed now.
haha nice! i love that you were in my city!
Pause at 2:06. Beautiful view of the suburban areas!
Glad I could help, thank you!

Would like to see a video of Denver Downtown
Thanks Geoff!

Any chance of coming out to Los Angeles and doing some videos out here?
Thanks Kyle!

I did not notice anything to be honest, and we were as high as 11,158 the next day at the Eisenhower Tunnel..
I wasn't there but 12-13 hours but from what I saw it looked nice.
Denver is a very nice city!
i hate the on ramp to 70 westbound from vasquez , almost got nailed by a 18 wheeler last night that decided to get in the slow lane right as i am merging onto 70.....thank good ness i have great brakes on my truck.
Did the altitude/thin air effect you?
Thanks, it would have been even better had I thought to clean the damn lens :P
Yes and yes and then some! I filmed over 150 miles of I-70 west of Denver.
I agree with Jeffrizel1986. Great views of a great city.
YAY!!! You finally got to Denver! Love your videos no matter where they're filmed! I created a video response of the skyline during the day. Hope you like!
I did not get to, hopefully I can see that someday.
did you go to San Francisco and Seattle?
Why is that interchange called The Mousetrap? You never fully explained that.
Thanks, it's a cool city IMO!
I filmed CT-8 and Glenwood Canyon coming up so curves don't bother me at all, in fact they make for good video. The Parkway just doesn't do anything for me and I-95 in CT is just horrible.
I'd agree, thanks!
Bad music
@@Jaya-baya No, just not your taste, and that's OK, the music works very well.
San Francisco, LA, SD and Vegas.
Yes it is.
You should have your own show!
I never knew about that huge car wreck on the mousetrap in 1984.
Driving on the dance floor
No, I did not get anywhere near there.
That probably not someplace I'll get to, sorry.
Yeah for the duration of the whole trip, doh!
haha hey, it happens. We've all been there! :-)
IMO Merritt Parkway is not boring but probably too quaint and curves to often for you.
Good, you didn't run into the stadium! :P
3:12
South Park lives
Agree about I-95 in CT especially from New Haven west. Dislike Jersey Turnpike also
LOL, Thanks!
Bigger hills of Rocky Mountains of Highest
amazi g
Uh yeah, that's kind of the plan, smh.
Excuse me? you don't tell me what to film, got it? Now if you want to pony up a few $K we can talk.
Not likely, both are boring roads IMO and I won't be in that area for at least a year if not more.
Thank you very much!
Thank you!
Thanks!
