Well I don't know what you think happens when whether disasters happen and the ppl who are victims of them have kids. Stuff happens. You can't shelter your kids away and hide every danger from them. They need to know there are dangers with weather and many other things. None of us live in a protective bubble. Life happens, and it is far better and wiser to prepare your kids for life, than it is to coddle them, and hide them away. You can't hide from Mother nature. Tornados hit all the time. And there are kids who experience them and see what they do. Those kids are far smarter and better equipped to handle things life throws at them. I mean heavens, no kids would have survived any of the wars that have happened in this world, the Great Depression, I could go on and on, according to you. Yet they did survive. And it made them stronger, smarter, and braver.

Three horses pretty severely injured…I had to put one down unfortunately. The other two should hopefully be able to recover. Two other cats probably dead.
So sorry to hear that. It's hard to loose animals and your memories. I had a similar experience a young child. Sending prayers from the US, I hope that your mom gets help and recovers. 😢❤❤❤
@@gsdmom1194 Thank you very much. We had over 200 people out to help us start cleaning up the debris field today. That's horrible for the cats. I heard some lady in texas lost some cats to a tornado a couple weeks back. She had one cat left. I'm a sucker for cats so it's not fun to hear that some lost their friends.
I must say your little boy is a fantastic camera man in the back of a moving vehicle, in that moment you can see something very unique, because of the way the tornado is picking up dirt you can physically see the rotation of the inflow winds wrapping around the updraft winds. My heart goes out to anyone who was effected by the events of the day and to the future storm chaser never stop chasing!

Did you hear the kid say they were too close? Did you see the kid injured? He was whistling in the dark. So sad he has to be subjected to this to get fathers attention. It can, but it was too many miles from where they were to be any danger to them even if it did. Their Camera was zoomed in to the highest level making the tornado appear to be much closer to them than it actually was. Every time that tornado got with 5 miles they got in the car and left. They were never in danger..
What really bothered me was that dad didn't pay very much attention to his child and was more concerned with the footage. Hard hat and bike helmet....yay. Did he ever check to see if he was buckled? Everyone talks about the young boy being the next Reed. When Reed has people riding in the backseat, and they are close to a tornado, he asks if they are buckled because he knows what it's like to loose friends when a car it tossed by a tornado. The professional chasers in America, like Reed, never take footage over safety. If they are chasing and there is a home that is hit, they stop chasing and check the home for people who need help. They never chase blind without radar. I think if you asked them to give an opinion, they would think it was great that the child was interested but not so great that dad could have put him in danger and instead of "teaching" him....and Boy, that was a Teachable moment in terms of meteorology, he ignored him and filmed 90% of the time. Shame on you, dad!!!! Step back and ask yourself, Do you do this all the time? Is he interested because he wants you to pay attention to him?

Great footage from both of you!
Just found your page after watching Jayjacks footage. I'm a chaser from Ottawa. Unbelievable footage. And to experience it with your son is a memory of a lifetime!
That's one lucky kid, getting to see that storm.
This is some incredible footage. Most tornados are over and back in to the wall cloud in just a minute or 2. I just cannot believe how that Tornado just keep gettiny stronger and bigger and continued to be on the ground for all that time.
That was amazing footage! Your young son did a really good job capturing it after you passed the phone to him.
The kid should become a cameraman when he’s older lol
It took me a minute to realize the son was filming. He done amazing.
@@foundationuser5043He already is !❤
Kids are growing up with phones now and are used to them at a young age. I'm not surprised that kids are learning these skills young
I was watching this from a baseball game in Olds. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Wow !! This is excellent footage. Thanks for sharing!
This is by far the best footage that I’ve seen so far of this tornado. Well done! If you haven’t already been contacted by the media, send this in for sure! Only video I’ve seen that captures it from a funnel cloud and from this close!!
Aaron jayjack's is better
This ain't the best footage and is that guy storm chasing with his kid?
@@Canuckgirl152yep and Jayjack is licensed storm Chaster. This guy puts his child in danger. These tornadoes can suck you up
@@jase4270I totally agree.

This is awesome, guys. What father/Son memories are being made here.
I love this kid!!! He brings excitement to the chase like reed timmer and he can take a shot from hail cry for a little and move on! Well done buddy great video
Kid doesn’t belong in a car in harms way!
Excellent footage. I watch a lot of this and this is among the best I've seen. Thanks for sharing!
The little guy got injured but toughed it out to finish the job superbly.
Sh*t happens when you're making documentaries!
He handled it like a Trooper!

Father put his son in harms way.
@@ninaangelina7417BS! He did not! They filmed the tornado on the highest zoom on their camera. That tornado was never even close to where they were. It was many miles away.
@@alesiap.6062 we’re you in the car? I saw a photo where child was taking videos. The child was hit in the head with hail! Child asked if they were going yet? You are seeing the world different than me. I have the instinct to protect children. My way of teaching kids is way different than yours.
@@ninaangelina7417 Got hit in the head with hail and he confidently bounced back. You're an old woman so you'll never understand a young man's mind. Don't talk for other people.
The kid filming is a better cameraman than at least 75% of storm chasers.
Should not even been in the car!
Your son is awesome and fearless! I love his commentary!
A future TH-camr in the making, pretty smart kid. Very observant
Not only is your son so entertaining and great with the camera and commentary, but you can tell by his sense of calm in a dangerous situation that he must have great trust in you as a dad and that is such a sweet thing to see.
So how would you feel if the tornado picked up the car and both were killed? The son has no business in the car unless he is of age.
The son seemed to have sense of uncomfort for himself he goes back in the Car a few times and rolls up windows , he has healthy gut feeling. Esp. when the Hail hit him , go seek shelter in Car and calm yourself down and look if its bad. He returns with ironical , yes its a bit red but it ok. IT think ths Child has more curage than much other adult. And if youre semi good Chaser you can see Tracking of Tornados where they will move. They have been pretty far distant
@@ninaangelina7417 Read the comment below. The kid knows what's good and what's bad. Probably better than me and you both.
I'm living the father son interaction here. I think you might have a new storm chaser on your hands
Thats going to be one of my favourite tornado videos to watch as i loved the commentry from the young boy and how entertaining to listen to him and his cute as accent.
I hope his eye was alright after getting hit by the hail and dad where was his reassuring hug and kisses?
Gorgeous boy
It was his upper arm that got hit on the fleshy bit but it still hurts! I got hit in the thumb with one later on.
Please let your son know he is a very brave young lad!! Great job to the both of you and thank you for risking your car for this footage.
This child has NO BUSINESS in the car. He is being put into harms way!
Whisking the car… is that what you are concerned with?.??? What about risking a underage child’s life????
Risking
Subscribed! Just to hear the way your son is reporting the "huuuuge tornado", massive....
What a partner he is ❤️
What a trooper! Your little guy took a huge hail stone to his eye, cried for like 3 seconds. And kept filming. So mature for his age, Thank you for sharing. I grew up in Manitoba for 7 years in the 80s i remember getting tornado warnings and I always went outside to see if I can see any. Never did, but saw lots of lightning. Which I love! Now I'm in Vancouver and never get tornadoes lol (actually we had a water sprout in 2022)
Common sense would be to get his child to shelter!!!!
He's pretty tough for sure. I have a younger brother and he'd be crying for days.
Great job guys!! What a long duration tornado. I hope everyone is safe. 🙌👏
I think your son is the next Reed Timmer!! Loved his commentary. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I second this comment. Such a smart little guy! Even when he got hurt “I’ll be more careful “ most anyone would just be done by then.
Yeah, he is much calmer than Reed😁
You stayed there a lot longer than I would have ! Brave soul!
Your son is a great camera man and the next meteorologist or storm chaser. We enjoyed listening to him explain the dangers of weather/tornadoes. while you both stayed safe and enjoyed the cool event of nature 😎
Your son is awesome Bro. His commentry is way better than most pro tornado chasers. Kid has got guts too, he is so claim. Amazing. And his camera work is really good. He will be a Badas5 when gets older i will bet.
I don’t know anything about storm chasing, but really uncomfortable with a child present on the scene…
Agree.
This father son experience is perfect! That’s one brave young man! And Dad, you’re giving him an experience that he will NEVER forget!
great filming team.
I have to say, your child did a fantastic job on your video👏🏻 Really cool looking tornado🌪 Y'all stay safe🧿
I have watched this 5-6 times, every time this little fella makes me smile and laugh! What a smart little guy he is. I adore his commentary. Future scientist ❤
The hail that hit your child's eye at 21 minutes could have blinded him.
So What? Life Lived. That Boy Has A Great Father And Shines Though His Son, Who I Thank & Job Well Done. Just Awesome.
@@GerhartificationExactly!❤
@@Gerhartificationwhat is wrong with you people. So what? He is to young to make a decision and be ok about being blinded at that age OMG. So if you think that a kid going blind by hail is no big deal then the next time a parent starves their kid....so what....maybe the kid should have been smart enough to eat the cocktail roaches? @@Gerhartification The hail later DOES hit the boy in the eye. You're off.
Yes, great coverage. Your son’s a gem!
Awesome video, thank you!
Hah your son will be the next Reed Timmer storm chaser. What a great co-pilot and recorder! Praying for everyones safety 🙏
My mom lost everything. Literally everything to this tornado. Thank God she was able to escape with her dog and one cat before it hit her, but she’s lucky to be alive. Three horses pretty severely injured…I had to put one down unfortunately. The other two should hopefully be able to recover. Two other cats probably dead.
So sorry to hear that. It's hard to loose animals and your memories. I had a similar experience a young child. I found some of my toys several miles away one day in a ditch at the grocery store when we parked. They were muddy. That's all I remember.
Sending prayers from the US, I hope that your mom gets help and recovers. 😢❤❤❤
@@gsdmom1194 Thank you very much. We had over 200 people out to help us start cleaning up the debris field today. The support was almost emotionally overwhelming to see that many people out to help us. If there's a silver lining in all this, the support from the community has restored a huge amount of faith in humanity that I had lost over the last few years.
That's horrible for the cats. I heard some lady in texas lost some cats to a tornado a couple weeks back. She had one cat left. I'm a sucker for cats so it's not fun to hear that some lost their friends.
the tornado looks enormous. wow
The kid gets better shots than most adults 😂 🤟😎📸
Your child did a great job on filming !
Great footage, and storm chaser in training did an excellent job!
Child way too young. He was put in danger.
Best storm chasers out there. No cursing God's name in the process
Thoughts and prayers for everyone stay safe
Incredible video, felt like I was there!
I'm very thankful this tornado didn't hit Edmonton, AB.
The kid asked his dad are you happy? How many kids at that moment in time would be thinking about their dad's happiness. You've done a hell of a job with that boy.❤
This is because the kid was scared and was trying to please his father. Yes’m he didn’t cry as he knew this is not the way to get this sort of fathers attention. Did you hear the kid say they were too close? Did you see the kid injured? He was whistling in the dark. So sad he has to be subjected to this to get fathers attention. Quality time watching videos and or taking videos at family events could teach this child without putting him in danger. You folks are way off applauding this situation. So, sad.
@@ninaangelina7417 I'm gonna reply to all of these. Old lady you need to stop acting like you know how young men think.
Love the commentary from the young gentleman! Too cute and incredibly wise for his young age.
I am so interested in seeing the ground scouring from this beast.. My heart is with Didsbury and its community... I couldnt even fathom the intense fear of seeing this monstrosity for those in the way of this, and my heart to the farms directly impacted by this..
Thank-you to you and your brave son for capturing this
Also, this is a great video that shows RFD and how wide the danger zone is of an active tornado.
It definitely was a shredder. Only a handful of tornadoes this year actually shredded up stuff like this thing did. Nobody was hurt but I'm sure their wallets are gonna be screaming because all their damaged farming equipment is horribly expensive.
Amazing commentary without any cursing or over the top screaming.
best kid's reaction ever! Brave, excited, resilient (poked in the eye with hail), he holds on to that camera in the wind and rain and moving car. Seriously, he needs on the news with his amazing reactions.
"Absolute beeeee-ast, it's huge!" "It's cra-a-a-zee big! HUGE!" "The hail's been going on for a solid 5 or 10 min. At least 5 min" "This is insane! This is why you WANT to stay far from tornados. They can be cool but they can also be deadly." Very well said little guy! I totally enjoyed the little guy's play by play report. "Hollee smoke. This is insane." "There's clear blue skies right next to the beeee-ast." Great recording too! But, seriously, I'm so sorry you got hurt, little guy. I hope that no-one got seriously hurt. This is happening in Didsbury.???? What the.... ???????? I'll agree with the little guy: This is insane. -Angele
I love this kid's commentary! He knows what's up and he holds the camera steady for most of it.
I was born in Kansas and raised in southwest Iowa and now in Texas. This is beautiful and yet, so deadly!!
I’m 45 and from the Scottish highlands. My kids are 24, 20 and 19 and I miss sharing stuff with them that gets them excited like your wee fella! Hearing his happy wee comments made me giggle and I just wish we had tornados and extreme thunderstorms where I live as I’ve never experienced either. My husband thinks I’m nuts, but if ever win the lottery I’m so heading across the Atlantic during tornado season. In the meantime, thank you for sharing this awesome footage 👍🏻
What a cool core memory to share with your son!! Such an amazing experience that he will definitely remember for the rest of his life! Happy Canada day 🇨🇦🥳

Remember, in the movie Twister. A tornado can shift direction. Be careful
Who Watches Movies/Fiction?
It can, but it was too many miles from where they were to be any danger to them even if it did. Their Camera was zoomed in to the highest level making the tornado appear to be much closer to them than it actually was. Every time that tornado got with 5 miles they got in the car and left. They were never in danger..
Stay safe you two❤
Wow! You two are a team! The tornado was pretty good too.
This kid is amazing!
Amazing ain't it? The power of a tornado and how it forms. Think it was an EF 3 or higher. It wipped out a few houses and stuff.
I'm zooming in on the debris!!! Omg!! How cute is your little man!!!❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦❤
You never know how fast it will move never take your children to a disaster.
AGREE!
Reed Timmer would be screaming "Drop it Down, Drop it Down!!!" Meanwhile the kid stayed calm and gave good commentary.
Wow! Impressive. Great video 😎👍
Reckless insanity being that close with your child.
