    The numbers 13.3 and 93 appear on the digital screen under the profitec text on the left of the machine. What do the numbers mean?

      93 is the brew temperature and 133 is the steam boiler temperature

    I have Profitec 600. Recent purchase. What's your process for making many lattes back to back. ie. do you flush the group head each time? rinse the portafilter each time or just wipe it out? thanks

    • @zrill84
      @zrill84  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I do flush the group head, to actually clean the shower screen then knock the puck out and only wipe it. Then continue with the next shot

    Great video, I've been struggling with the steaming process and this really helped! How do you need when to stop introducing air to the milk?

    • @zrill84
      @zrill84  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Introduce air until the temp of pitcher is the same as your hand. Then on just dip the tip deeper to swirl and heat the milk to temp

    How many shots can you pull back to back before having to wait for the brewboiler to heat up?

    • @zrill84
      @zrill84  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I normally do milk based drinks, i have done more than 15 lattes back to back with no issue. Im not sure if its back to back espresso would be an issue. The boilers get up to temp very fast though

      @@fahadara No regrets. If I had to do it over again, I might add extra for the pro 700 simply because I can plumb it in, and has a bigger steam boiler. But for me, as I usually make coffee for myself, it's perfect. Great choice.

    • @JustPiichi
      @JustPiichi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zrill84 Oh, it's just that I've seen some people make their own "brew water" that consists of distilled water + a bit of Epsom salt and baking soda to get the ideal mix of minerals in their water to get better flavor without causing lime scale in their machine.

    • @zrill84
      @zrill84  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JustPiichi i see. Im just using normal filtered water. Also, the water at my place is soft, hence almost no/minimal scaling issue.

      @@zrill84 The Pro 600 has stainless steel boilers, which are corroded by the chlorine in tap water. I'm not sure how long and how much exposure it takes for those small "craters" to appear, but it's a good thing to know.

    How many holes does your steam tip have? Been struggling with steaming on my 600 devils edt.

    • @zrill84
      @zrill84  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one that came with the machine was two holes. I replaced it with 4 holes. Its much faster but u need to get used to the speed. Which part are you struggling with?

    • @christofferkjrholm8157
      @christofferkjrholm8157 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zrill84, thank your for your response! It produced a lot of bubbles when steaming, so was hard to get good microfoam and whirlpool. Found out this morning that when closed tight the holes on the steam tip was vertical, which was the cause of the problem. Adjusted it so the holes were horizontal instead, made a huge difference. Though I just picked up two new steam tips; one with 3 holes and one with 4, gonna test tomorrow. :-)

    • @salarzarandi3427
      @salarzarandi3427 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christofferkjrholm8157 I have the same issue with the 2 holes tip, where can I buy 3 holes or 4 holes tip? Also, what do you mean by adjusting it to horizontal?

    • @christofferkjrholm8157
      @christofferkjrholm8157 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@salarzarandi3427 try asking your dealer for 3-4 tip holes. That is what I did.
      Regarding the 2 holes facing horizontally. Instead of having one hole just above the milk and the other submerged = vertically placing the holes. Try facing the holes in a horizontal way, like a straight line so both holes will either be submerged or above the milk at the same time. Hope this makes sense, hard to describe by not showing it :-)

    why did you run water through the group before brewing?

    • @SteelRaider12
      @SteelRaider12 ปีที่แล้ว

      He may have had another machine before this one as it's not necessary at all. If anything, when you are done you can run water through it again to clean the screen with the portafilter out and rub with rag after flushing it for a few seconds.
