As a Navajo Silversmith (Dine') I appreciate his skill and process. I really liked how he cut out the backing of the stone, which stone looks turquoise, but is most likely died howlite. To the trained eye it is silver, but is definetely not Navajo made. I percieve this as a knock off and deceptive for those who want real turquoise and from a real Native American artist.
I’m Diné this offended me and my people we have a proud heritage in our silversmithing to say it’s Navajo made and not be of them people is disrespectful. I appreciate the video but to say how to make a Navajo ring. None of it has been made Navajo style. None of it is hand pounded with chisels in an anvil. I’m very disappointed to use my nations name shame on you.
