- I was well on my way to purchasing a new tablet online to replace my XP-PEN G640 RevB when Veikk contacted me and sent me their newest tablet to try out and review. This is the Veikk Creator Pop VK430, a tablet designed specifically for osu! players. At just $20, the tablet comes at one-third of the cost of other popular osu tablets like the Wacom CTL-472, and is the cheapest osu! tablet you can find in 2022. With a polling rate of 290 Hz that rivals all other big brand tablets and little to no hardware smoothening, everything seems too good to be true. But then I actually tried it, and the results shocked me, to say the least.

using the vk1080 pro here, i literally had to find my optimal area using the osu sens system and make a spreadsheet calculating the needed numbers using some math. yes the driver is actually stressful and hopefully open tablet driver comes out with a compatible version (i havent checked)
- Being sponsored doesn't have to mean you were paid money to make the video. You can get sent a product for free and that's still a sponsorship, also I doubt anyone would put all the buy links in the description if they weren't sponsored.
- The polling rate they report isn't at all trustworthy either. 290 Hz is most likely interpolated up from some lower amount which introduces latency (not to mention the smoothing).
- The tablet definitely has some amount of hardware smoothing with the interpolation used, which will be noticeable if you film your cursor and pen movement with a slow-mo camera (240 FPS slow-mo should be enough) and slam the pen into a corner of a box.
- In defence of their driver, the measurement system is actually more scientific than you think. It's the mm distance from the Top and Left, multiplied by the LPMM (LPI/25.4), although in this particular case, their LPI is something absolutely stupid at around 12000 LPI, which is definitely not possible with the best tablet tech, still from Wacom, and heavily implies hardware smoothing for the fake LPI.

For point 1: No it doesn't mean it's sponsored. As long as he has to send it back after he's done with it (although I'm not sure of that) then it's still not sponsored. A sponsor is when someone is paid to advertise the product for the company. This means that the video is often scripted, but most times they just give a series of points for the content creator to hit on. This generally means that the content creator isn't allowed to speak badly about the product in any way.

Wow and I thought budget (usable) tablets couldn't get any cheaper than the Gaomon S620. I'm looking at u Huion 420.
The response rate is great (if we trust the manufacturer spec) however cheap price have to come with a cost right?
Like how is the tablet surface? Is the material/build quality good? Is the pen light or heavy? The feel of holding it?
The obvious cons are: how small it is results in less censor and a cheaper product. I'm pretty sure the CTL-472 has a hover distance of 1.7mm which is a plus I guess (I'm a drag players so I don't know). But it also has 0 smoothing, better versatility. And from what I have heard, Wacom tablets build quality are top-notches. The packaging and warranty too.
That's what u get for paying triple the price lol.
I myself own the S620 and still by far the most solid tablet for the price. Sure, it's more expensive but not too much. Even Wacom users tried and stay play with it cuz...well... preference.
For now we should wait for more content creator with a wider knowledge of tables to review it. People that have many tablets and years of using them. Sorry, I'm not hating on your video in anyway, I'm actually glad u draw quick attention to this new tablet for everyone. And by then we could get a deeper analysis on this tablet, whether debating if this is truly the best and cheapest table to get.
Well it's cheaper but garbage compared to an S620 (and most tablets in general). The S620 is still the best non-Wacom tablet, and probably will continue being the best for quite a while.
The report rate is interpolated (adds fake reports in-between the real ones) so it's not really as high as it says. You can get basically any rate you want in OTD by just interpolating it.
There is no CTL-475, not sure what you're talking about, maybe CTL-472? But yes, there is not a single non-Wacom that rivals Wacom tablets (except the x90 and x100 Wacoms, they're abysmally bad).

I'm a mouse player but I have a tablet for art things. Veikk s640, (which has too much latency for osu.) The build quality is not great and this tablet in the video seems similar. But it's not going to fall apart. Mine is still fine after 3 years and I press quite hard.

i got the ctl in a store here where i live and it wasnt 60 dollars it was on sale for 20 so yea still amazing and the veikk is also a good rival to it so both tablets are great but i prefer ctl in my opinion
