    i just found this and I'm so glad i did. I'll be binge watching your channel.. thanks. a quick question just in case you don't have a video for it. the products in the collection. Are they optimized? or just Titled?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aw yay, love to hear it!! Products in a collection, it depends what they are and if I have a keyword to optimize them for or not. A lot of times I prioritize depending on keyword strategy.

    Awesome, thanks! I was wondering if optimizing seo for collection pages was important as well, so cheers!

      Yes! It’s such an underutilized SEO strategy, to optimize collection pages.

    can you make a video on how in the collection pages we can add section to write content in the below.

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ahh that’s kinda hard because it depends on your theme and might require an app or coding. Neither of which I have experience with. I usually connect with a Shopify developer if I need extra things like this.

    Hi quick SEO question - does it matter if the collection description is above or below the main products?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve seen success both ways so I don’t think it matters too much!

    Awesome thanks! Are you also creating a site map to organize your collections on? Or do you just leave it once you are done? ❤

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your overall website sitemap created by Shopify includes your collection sitemap. And that overall sitemap updates as you add pages to your website. So you only really have to submit your overall sitemap to Google once, unless you’re working with a developer that’s doing something special.

    Hello Mariah, thanks for the tutorial on the collection page. I have a question on something slightly different (feel free to redirect to the right place). Does it make sense to have 2 pages for the same product on shopify, 1 for the benefits description, 1 for the SEO? And how would you configure that without messing things up on the site, when people visit?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is kind of a loaded question, depending on context. It depends on the keyword and the pages and such. Google likely won’t show you twice in search results for the same keyword, and you could get a penalty for trying to dominate search results for one keyword. So it’s best practice to prioritize, combine, or target long tail keywords to offset this. But the best solution would depend on a lot of things. Hopefully that helps a little!

    If our collection theme is such that the title and description are not user-facing does google still crawl that info? Is it still relevant for SEO?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The SEO title and meta description are usually not viewable on the front end of the website. It’s metadata that’s in the code that the Google bots can read for when the page shows up on the SERPs. Hopefully that helps!

    this is a great video with great info. I do have a question - should we also add descriptions to the different sections of each collection? TIA

      Thank you! Glad it was helpful. I haven’t worked with a theme that has numerous sections for the collections so I’m not sure.

    Hey Maria! Thanks for the great video ! How many words do you recommand for collection pages ?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thank you so much! Honestly, it depends lol I know that’s not helpful but it depends on how competitive your keyword is. I would start with a couple sentences and see if that helps. If it doesn’t budge your rankings, you could consider building out the page more and adding additional text + working on backlinks. Hopefully that’s helpful!

      My client may have changed things since this video. I don’t offer on going retainer services so I’m not quite sure. My suggestion would def be to keep it there.

    Hello! Thanks for the video! One question...what about urls in different languages? Would it be better to use latin, use the english word or just type my native word?

    • @MariahMagazine

      You’re welcome! TBH when it comes to multi-language or different language websites, I don’t have a clue. I haven’t worked on one before. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

    Shopify has a tab for tags or hashtags… Is that important?

    Hi Mariah! Thanks so much for this video!
    Quick question! Is it possible / a strategy to make multiple collections with the same products in them but targeting different key words? For example, these products could be an anniversary gift or even just a birthday gift.

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s hard to say honestly bc a lot of other things come into play. As long as it’s helpful to the user to have them separated like that, and you add different text to each page, it might be worth testing. Sometimes you can even target a few keywords on a collection page, it just allll comes back to what’s going to make most sense for user experience. You can also target different keywords with a strategic blog post strategy too! (Think list/round up posts that help users make a purchasing decision)

    hey, is it also possible to add text under the products for seo optimization and then a different text per collection?

    • @MariahMagazine
      @MariahMagazine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adding text under the products, like a description of them is a good idea if your theme provides that option! I’m not sure if it’s possible to automatically generate different description text per collection for the products tho. Might have to chat with a developer about that one lol
