Another great Zhuge Liang scene. I love this at the second place for this character. A ceremony(yes fool everyone) to called a wind as Zhou Yu/WU wish ^^.

This scene broke my heart... Zhuge HELPED this man. He did everything he could for the plans of a general to work and this is how the general thanks him? A death penalty? Trully a hypocrisy and ungratefulness level master here... I understand him being afraid of Liang's power and knowledge... But this man was the only reason of any chances of success for general's plan at all... And instead of showing a bit of SINCERE gratitude, he orders ZL to be killed by his men... Trully wicked people were there in ancient ages, just as in modern times...

that's the funny part though. Zhou Yu is considered a jealous man, but one loyal to his cause. From another perspective, Zhuge Liang is only doing this to keep his lord Liu Bei in the fight. It was, in a large part, Sun Quan making a stand to save Liu Bei in the first place that led the war south (though Sun Quan would have eventually been killed by the enemy without Liu Bei). So Zhou Yu putting the good of his lord and nation above his personal admiration for Zhuge Liang and his plots to kill him are in service of a greater cause.
The Three Kingdoms era is complicated.

I love it! It looks much bigger than nine feet high, with three steps. I see the three tiers with maybe nine steps on each tier. I have much to learn. I am a healer and alchemist. This weather majick is a whole other level. I do feel it will be beneficial.

it's not magic LOL, he just knew the weather very well. in this modern era, it's called a meteorologist. Zhuge Liang is very intelligent, he spends his time writing or reading/studying it will make sense if he also studies the weather, because weather plays a huge role in the battlefield/war too

Zhao Yun shot at the enemy ship’s rope that held up their sail so it fell down. It kind of showcases his skill. In any case, without a sail their ship won’t have the speed to catch up.

Historically, Zhuge Liang never prayed - or even came up with the idea for conjuring the wind. Zhou Yu and Sun Quan did the majority of the planning for the Battle of Red Cliffs.
Damn shame. Once you realize how much of Zhuge Liang's story is fiction, your respect for him falls a bit. He was still a great tactician and remarkable inventor, though. It's because of him that we have the Chu Ko Nu in AOE2!

Ironically, repeating crossbows were invented long before Zhuge Liang (first seen in the warring states era). He did improve both the wheelbarrow and the heavy crossbow though. But Zhuge Liang's administration was far more impactful than his military or inventions. Much of the development of Southern China is thanks to his skills, and laid the foundation for centuries of prosperity.

He is still amazing in actual history. I even admire him more without the “supernatural” part added on him in the novel.
