Like anything, dance is a skill that is learned and not inherent. So if you wanna be able to do this, you can. :) Some steps she's doing in this clip: T-Step, Charleston, House Happy Feet. Or just look up Shuffle Dance.

The life sim genre's cracked open a bit lately, with the next Sims pivoting to multiplayer, Life By You being cancelled, and Inzoi being a very high-end game that has problems running on a lot of computers. Keeping Paralives fairly resource-light so that it will run easily on laptops and slightly older desktops will make it a very popular option.

*2 Things we need asap to make this even better:* 1. I think there should be music genres, and so a dance animation/variation for that genre. (how difficult is that to achieve? well, it's not that hard, and the work depends mostly on the artists rather than coders, the feature costs as much as adding new skins or models, which is not that much since you could even buy, or even use free ready to go assets as a base). 2. I also think the animation loop should last for longer. Instead of a 3 seg loop, do a 8s or 12s loop. Other similar ways to achieve less repeated results would be using multiple 3s animations, connecting them semi-randomly, or allowing different body parts to slightly change the animation to make things look more natural). This would improve this a lot without needing to deal with "groundbreaking new coding solutions", and can be done today or in a year without changing anything else in the game. ↗

I was glad that this project (Paralives) existed before, but now I am even happier, knowing, there is a promising life simulation game in the pipelines with developers really caring about what fans want. Please, please keep up the good work!!! It looks so promising!
To be honest, I have always been a bit confused about the existence of a whole scale of gradation of hidden dance skills, since dances come in different forms. Bachata, Macarena, Twist, Rockabilly, Tango, Aberdevine, and so on. As an amateur who doesn't know how to do anything, I can only identify three stages of improvement: "trying as best he can", "knowing how to do it", and "enjoying the process"; and I just sway to the rhythm with my eyes closed.
I dont know if it's just me but the body movement of the first medium skill animation reminds of me that one GMod dance, I know its not the same but it gives me that vibe for some reason
I mean raising arms up and down is pretty low skill as in it doesn't require a lot of practise to get the move right and requires minimal rythym because you're moving both arms at the same time, so yeah it is low skill regardless of the dance culture it's in 😂
Oooh I hope there can be different styles of dancing too! Like jazz, ballet, salsa, etc. Would really liven up the world to see that kind of variety! Excited for the game no matter what though :)
There won't be The Sims 5, The Sims 4 still the worst in the series, Inzoi looks too much realistic and the vibe kinda scares me. Thank god Paralives is here. It's cozy, beautiful and advanced! It's like The Sims 1, 2 and 3 combined and I'm here for it! Everything that The Sims 4 should have been back in the day.
I had a rough childhood I was beat by mom and bullied by the other kids in school. I would always be in and out of school and sports and other activities because I would get into fights with the other kids. If I was outside it was to hangout with punks and get into even worse trouble. But I always had my happy things in my room that I could whisk myself away with to my fantasy lands where I could imagine myself content with life. Im an adult now and I don’t need them anymore and I shouldn’t care but I do for some reason. It seems like now so many of those things from my childhood are being taken away from me and made into something I can’t recognize anymore. Star Wars, Fallout, The Sims. I remember hearing about Paralives when it first started preproduction and to be honest I didn’t follow it as much as I should. I just came back recently and it made me tear up a little bit that maybe just maybe something from my youth might see the light of the day again. Thank you, for letting me hold onto one happy thing from my childhood.
