For their first sequel set (that isnt 4+) since 2020, they actually did surprisingly well, apart from maybe Rey’s lightsaber, but my colourblindness doesn’t help that
I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about including the festive C-3PO and R2 figs from last year’s advent calendar. I think they’d fit in perfectly here.
This is how I like my dioramas: cheap, fun and well-thought-out. I also like that it's based on that Lego Star Wars Christmas special from a year or two ago. And now my Christmas sweater wearing Poe Dameron has a Christmas party to attend! 😊🎉🎄🎅

I think you could add in some of the other advent calendar minifigs if Rey and Finn aren't your cup of tea (C3PO and R2D2 maybe?) Which is kind of a nice idea to display some of those characters and hopefully we get more holiday these diorama style sets for other advent minifigs that don't suit being on the Millennium Falcon.
To answer your question about why they chose the sequel trilogy characters over the OT, this is based on the Lego Star Wars holiday special they released on Disney + last year. It’s not just a random thing.
Hey thanks for the review Ryan, now I know I'm defiantly gonna pick this one up and replace the mini-figures with it. My plan is basically just to use "Solo - A Star Wars Story" figures like Han, Qi'ra, Lando, etc. and pose them in this Diorama!
I actually kind of love this set. Like you said, you can take the holiday decorations off & the interior can be used for anything from the OT to the ST. I’m hoping to pick this up myself eventually. I hope Lego keeps making small $30 SW sets like this, holiday or otherwise.
I was thinking that one with the Republic Senate would be cool. Maybe Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Padme, and Palpatine? There would probably be a Jar Jar Binks too...
I would consider it more of a “Lego holiday special” set more than a sequel set. Even though the special was for children and flawed I think this set is fun and worth it for the holiday season
I'm definitely getting this set, solely due to this video. I don't have a modern chewie, a Rey or Finn (although they are going straight to my son's lego city), bb8 or a porg. The last two will just be good additions to the backgrounds of star wars MOCs, & all the pieces will be super useful in MOCs.
We should get the interior of a jedi cruiser with a few bunks and for minifigures we could have some Jedi and some clone troopers in festive armor/attire

My idea for a LEGO Star Wars holiday set would be Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, and R2 and 3PO in some sort of Coruscant festival. I think it would be cute to have all of them together in a LEGO set not fighting some threat 🥰
My wife loves the sequel trilogy and we are getting it just for the Christmas theme mini figs. We are slowly building up our collection for a large Christmas Star Wars party!
They went with neon yellow for Rey’s lightsaber. Which isn’t green, but it does give off a green hue that’s inaccurate to the color of it in Episode IX.
They should do a set with jango and boba fett with a couple of clone troopers opening presents or a Christmas dinner, jango spending time with his sons
My set is already in transit for delivery. I like it to add to my lego holiday items. (I ordered the nutcracker with this). And since it is only available until the end of the year, another opened set may be a good price some day.
I thought of a good Christmas Diorama idea; something like the Christmas Truce, where two armies (CIS/Clones, Rebels/Empire, etc) have a celebration together.
They could continue to expand THIS interior of the millennium falcon each year. By adding another section of the falcon interior, but each year from a different era / show.
This is a great fun Christmas themed set and being someone who doesn't hate the sequels, I'm appreciating that theme and look forward to building this one. Let's hope for more

@@timewarpdrive77 I like the sequels slightly more than the prequels but to be fair there are multiple remakes of everything that appears in the OT and most things from the prequels. They can't just keep remaking the same things over and over when there's 5 other movies to make things from

If you don’t care about it, don’t buy it. I don’t care about expensive clone sets but I’m not complaining about the recent AT-TE, gunship, etc. If it’s not for you that doesn’t mean it’s lame or sucks. You can easily get the set and put your Hoth OT characters into it as a holiday diorama, it’s not that hard
I reckon the fact that it’s based on Star Ward Lego movie (?) content is pretty cool. Lots of options for them to recreate in the future. Lego mechs (no thanks), Lego cartoon builds (yes please)

Building mine, coincidently, as your review came up… I like the set, a lot. Since building the LEGO Employee Gift in 2019, the Xmas-Wing, that I loved, I’ve thought LEGO should do holiday sets for the masses. That said, I would love to see, LEGO do something like this, every Christmas. A real treat, for Star Wars fans, in addition to the Advent Calendar (which could tie into the Xmas Set), each season.
Honestly, I'd sooner buy this "cheaporama" if it was based on the proper Holiday Special. 'cause at least that monstrosity is still closer to being real Star Wars than anything out of Disney-Star Wars. I'm glad it's not a real Diorama, though. The dioramas are one of the very few Star Wars sets I still buy and had they made one based on Disney-Star Wars, I'd have to relinquish my objective of having ALL the dioramas.
I have nothing against holiday themed sets like this but I'm curious about the base design. Why is it angled? Wouldn't a square or rectangle work better?
Could be cool if the diorama setcould replace the same section in the ucs milinium falcon. Then after a few years yor ould have a very xmas-like UCS falcon to display for xmas

If you take all the Christmas stuff off it's just a regular room if you get multiple sets you could probably extend the ground and you could possibly make a door longer just like you did the mock with all of those black droids and Luke Skywalker was chopping them up in the hall you could do a cool Mark with both of those together dreadout see what happens
