- LEGO Star Wars has released a publicly available Holiday set (that isn't and advent calendar) for the first time ever! The 40658 Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama is a very cool set but it's biggest flaw is the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Minifigures instead of Original Trilogy. I hope to see a yearly LEGO Star Wars Holiday set going forward!

It's crazy how this is the first sequel era set we've gotten in years. I may not lik the films but this holiday display set is wonderful and I hope they do more in the future.

For their first sequel set (that isnt 4+) since 2020, they actually did surprisingly well, apart from maybe Rey’s lightsaber, but my colourblindness doesn’t help that

I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about including the festive C-3PO and R2 figs from last year’s advent calendar. I think they’d fit in perfectly here.

the set is based on the lego star wars holiday special that's why the figures are from the sequels and also the outfits are directly taken from the holiday special, that's why the porg is just a regular porg

The 3p0 and R2 from the advent calendar from 2022 will fit perfectly into this set.
A Christmas Death Star conference room with a Santa Grand Moff Tarkin would be pretty funny.
This is how I like my dioramas: cheap, fun and well-thought-out. I also like that it's based on that Lego Star Wars Christmas special from a year or two ago. And now my Christmas sweater wearing Poe Dameron has a Christmas party to attend! 😊🎉🎄🎅
Replace the minifigs with luke, han, chewie, r2 and leia and it'll be a good display

To answer your question about why they chose the sequel trilogy characters over the OT, this is based on the Lego Star Wars holiday special they released on Disney + last year. It’s not just a random thing.

I think you could add in some of the other advent calendar minifigs if Rey and Finn aren't your cup of tea (C3PO and R2D2 maybe?)
Which is kind of a nice idea to display some of those characters and hopefully we get more holiday these diorama style sets for other advent minifigs that don't suit being on the Millennium Falcon.
I think the emperor's throne room would be good for a Christmas diorama. Depends on the size Palpatine, Vader, Royal Guards and a mouse droid
I was thinking that one with the Republic Senate would be cool. Maybe Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, Padme, and Palpatine? There would probably be a Jar Jar Binks too...

Hey thanks for the review Ryan, now I know I'm defiantly gonna pick this one up and replace the mini-figures with it. My plan is basically just to use "Solo - A Star Wars Story" figures like Han, Qi'ra, Lando, etc. and pose them in this Diorama!

I actually kind of love this set. Like you said, you can take the holiday decorations off & the interior can be used for anything from the OT to the ST. I’m hoping to pick this up myself eventually. I hope Lego keeps making small $30 SW sets like this, holiday or otherwise.

I'm definitely getting this set, solely due to this video. I don't have a modern chewie, a Rey or Finn (although they are going straight to my son's lego city), bb8 or a porg. The last two will just be good additions to the backgrounds of star wars MOCs, & all the pieces will be super useful in MOCs.
This, but the ghost crew pre Jedi Night. New Zeb, S3 Ezra, and Sabine which were exclusive variants to only the Lego Games.
I would consider it more of a “Lego holiday special” set more than a sequel set. Even though the special was for children and flawed I think this set is fun and worth it for the holiday season
with a little head swap turning the characters into Luke and Han, or Anakin and Obi etc, this is a great set
I really enjoyed building this set, the door and couch especially!
We should get the interior of a jedi cruiser with a few bunks and for minifigures we could have some Jedi and some clone troopers in festive armor/attire

My set is already in transit for delivery. I like it to add to my lego holiday items. (I ordered the nutcracker with this). And since it is only available until the end of the year, another opened set may be a good price some day.
I like it! Could easily take off the Christmas decor and use other minifigs for a cool diorama.
They should do a Home One holiday set that’s the holo-meeting room with holiday Ackbar and Mon Mothma. Would have been a perfect RotJ anniversary set!

My idea for a LEGO Star Wars holiday set would be Anakin, Obi-Wan, Padme, and R2 and 3PO in some sort of Coruscant festival. I think it would be cute to have all of them together in a LEGO set not fighting some threat 🥰

Building mine, coincidently, as your review came up… I like the set, a lot. Since building the LEGO Employee Gift in 2019, the Xmas-Wing, that I loved, I’ve thought LEGO should do holiday sets for the masses. That said, I would love to see, LEGO do something like this, every Christmas. A real treat, for Star Wars fans, in addition to the Advent Calendar (which could tie into the Xmas Set), each season.
I can't believe the main criticism (lightsaber colour aside) is that this is a sequel era set, it's literally the first in so long.
Sequels suck... Dunno how you can't comprehend this. They don't deserve recognition.

They went with neon yellow for Rey’s lightsaber. Which isn’t green, but it does give off a green hue that’s inaccurate to the color of it in Episode IX.
I reckon the fact that it’s based on Star Ward Lego movie (?) content is pretty cool. Lots of options for them to recreate in the future. Lego mechs (no thanks), Lego cartoon builds (yes please)
I thought of a good Christmas Diorama idea; something like the Christmas Truce, where two armies (CIS/Clones, Rebels/Empire, etc) have a celebration together.

They could continue to expand THIS interior of the millennium falcon each year. By adding another section of the falcon interior, but each year from a different era / show.

If you take all the Christmas stuff off it's just a regular room if you get multiple sets you could probably extend the ground and you could possibly make a door longer just like you did the mock with all of those black droids and Luke Skywalker was chopping them up in the hall you could do a cool Mark with both of those together dreadout see what happens

This set is based on the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special from 2020 so that's why it has sequel characters.
I didn’t even know this set existed until yesterday when I was at the LEGO Store. It’s an interesting set and I did buy it, but I do kinda wish it wasn’t sequel trilogy.

What seemed in to change better with the original characters instead of the new trilogy characters, so I in your votes rated u give a 5/10 if that's the case in what I'm wondering about as well to others who may not like it at all even to display it as a collection holiday in there furniture.
Could be cool if the diorama setcould replace the same section in the ucs milinium falcon. Then after a few years yor ould have a very xmas-like UCS falcon to display for xmas
