@@bjoernibaer1904 I mean... I live in the middle of the country side where all people care about is fishing. I don't think something like this would pick up here. Especially considering it's a poorer area. There is a yearly event a couple states over, but it's 5 hours away and I can't afford the house and board prices there :/
Epic Empires is played with a no-points and skill system and with a respawn. Fights work on an honor system where you sell every hit accordingly and go down when it feels right to do so. From personal experience, I usually go down after 1-2 good hits so there is not really a need to track hits.
Bows and Crossbows on german Larp events are capped at 20-25 lbs. You definitly notice the hit but everything other than point blank hits do usually not hurt.
It depends on the camp honestly. Every camp manages the application process on their own and there is definitely a wide spectrum of acceptable costumes.
This seems great! I was trying to take a look around the camps and their descriptions, however I dont speak german. Is this event english-friendly? And is there a way to see the site in enlgish other than using google translate?
Hi, this is probably the first time Epic Empires has alot of exposure internationally so there are no english descriptions for now. If you have any questions about the camps we are happy to help and I am sure the orginizers will setup some material in english in the future.
@@OTBlase That sounds great, I am glad for you that this evenemnt has reached international attention. I am sure the camp designers/leaders will help me out aswell. However I have one question for you. When playing on the battlefield? How much german is spoken? And if I want to switch to English is that possible? In order to avoid going OOC I would say something like that I am a foreigner and dont speak their tongue or whatever, or perhaps you have a band colour that indicates that I don't speak german?
In Battle its 100% german. There some small international groups of which we know but as of now 99% of all PCs are german. English is fine though, ingame its refered to as "merchant language" and depending on the character alot of people will have no problems switchin to it. That knight character that got his arm bandaged in the video had a leadership role in one of the camps and spoke only english. Some camps can accomodate this better than others though. We definitly recommand the Facebook group of Epic Empires to find contacts with International players to get their perspective on that matter.

Looks like fun, but wow, it looks difficult to keep track of who hit who.

Does getting shot by the crossbow hurt because it seems like the rubber ball on the bolt would still hit you with hundreds of pounds of force

@@OTBlase thank you for clearing that up
Norska....rules...😊
Would love to go to this. But costume requirements to high tbh.
