I ran 4 tropo 15’s 2 years! Definitely good subs for the price! I paid less than 250$ for all 4 brand new and ran them off a Orion xtr 2500.1 dz @1ohm never had a issue!
I’m glad you’re not about blowing subs up, but rather keeping it real. Most of us listen to music on a moderate level anyways. So keeping it in the rms for your test is very respectful

Hey Parker great vid!!! I've got a single Tropo 12 D4 wired @ 2 ohms in a 2.6 cf ported box tuned to around 38hz in my wife's car and it slams. They are a great sub and do take the power. Very enjoyable sub and the $100.00 price tag ain't bad either. I am working an putting 10 of these in a suburban can't wait to hear the boom they produce. Budget ground shaker for sure
Late '90s I had a top-of-the-line $1,000 precision power amp with 2 12' JL audios in a 83 Chevy Malibu hit hard as hell loved that system that was late '90s.in 2022 I have two Rockford fosgate p2s and I have $150 CT sounds 1000 watt amp and it hits just as hard technology has really came a long way

Two of these in a 2 ohm configuration and the latest Kenwood 5 ch excelon series amps with 2 sets of Kenwood excelon component speakers would be an awesome pick.

Parker, would you recommend this over the Sundown LCS? I have 650 watts to feed it. Seems like that LCS can really take a lot more than the 300 RMS it's rated for!

What is better/best sounding, the CT sounds tropo 12 or the Skar sdr 12. I don't know which one is the better buy and they're the same price. I had a 12 kicker compC and it did the job fine.

Is the v2 the same as the current Tropo XL? Your specs seem better than the current regular tropo listed on their site. 11mm xmax, y30 magnet, but higher RMS power, and the current model has a "high narrow surround" which looks different.
If i run these on a 700w mono will that still sound alright or is it not worth it?

Have you done a CT MESA 12" review? I was wondering compared to Alpines newer R series. They both have somewhat similar specs. I know the Alpine has much better Xmass and fs, and Qts. But The Mesa looks promising. I am intrested in CT, but hardly any comparisons. Thanks. Still new to this.

it was working very good and all of a sudden I heard a thump and no more Bass.
I adjusted everything checked everything and everything is okay.
the next morning my fuse was melted and I had no bass.I took my truck to a professional audio shop in the guy said my subwoofer is no good.they Are covered under two-year warranty so I ship them back.when I remove them from my truck I noticed a burnt black round circle underneath where the subwoofers were sitting.... I don't know if this has anything to do with my issue but just throwing it out there.... I bought me a new amp in a new subwoofer hoping to rule out a problem and I'm still having the same problem with my vehicle...everything turns on it has volts my RCA cables are working plus the settings on my head unit are set for a working subwoofer.
But I still do not get the power output the amplifier thump AKa the bass I have no bass like if I have no subs at all...idk can someone please help me????
I hope you can help. I'm trying to learn about this so I can hook up a system in my truck. I want to get a pair of DVC 4 ohm subs. I saw that when you wire the subs it goes to 2 ohms. Does that mean when I'm choosing an amp I should be looking at the 2 ohms power rating on the amp instead of the 4 ohm rating?
They go down to 1ohm not 2 or 4ohm if wired in series
And you should be looking at the 1ohm rating on the amp
Yes if you have a DVC 4 ohm sub you can wire it down to 2 ohms. So yes you’ll want an amp that pushes around that RMS power at 2 ohms
A pair of dual four ohm subs wired together in parallel will give you a final load of 1. You'll want a amp stable at one ohm.
They have issuea with their terminal leads. I do some small and easy repairs on woofers and boxes, my specialty being building custom sub enclosures, boomboxes and BT speakers. Not relevant i know but, i have a Mesa 8in given to me from a guy running 4 in his system because it was "blown". Tested bad with the multimeter and out of curiosity i bypasses the terminals and tested it where the leads meet the cone. Turns out the tinsel leads, where it meets the spider on the first ripple wasnt making contact. Probably due to over excursion or wear n tear, idk? Its the first one i seen with problem nor hav i done anything with it. Id it had more space around the spider i would try and solder another lead direct from terminals to cone if thats even possible, once again something ive never tryd. Id ask for advise but the obvious fix would be replace the bad part and not be 'riggin it.

So far I'm only 4 mins in, but seems like very nice value for $100! I've seem similar ones for double that price! I've never owned anything by CT Sounds, but seems like an okay brand.

Hey Parker, could you PLEASE HELP ME i’m stuck in this situation, so my audiopipe 1500d had blown for whatever reason with the rockville destroyer and i’m looking for a TARAMPS amplifier and i’m looking at the 3000 watt rms ones and i’m looking at it and some say 1ohm and some say 2 ohms i’m honestly a beginner at this and i don’t know what that means and also later in the future i’m going to get a Sundown Audio Xv2 12 which is 1500 watt rms so i want to see what TARAMPS would be great for both the rockville destroyer and the future sundown audio, ive tried asking many people and so far i haven’t got any help yet
Get the smart 3k. More Ohm load options with that amp. It makes 3k at one or two ohms.

I'd say keep saving and go with Skar EVL or even better such as the VXF because you know after a few months the $100 sub won't be enough and you'll want to upgrade to more bass so might as well save money in the process by going big the first time rather than having to keep buying another set-up year after year in order to upgrade in small increments. Take the leap! IMO

I own 4 of dual 2ohm VD12'S and I absolutely love them!!! Just make sure that you break them in real well before giving them any kind of real power and then you will definitely enjoy them! My reg cab gmc Sierra sounds insane with 4 shallow 12's in sealed box on a wolfram 2400.1 at 1ohm

PD, Question: (Summary) are you going to be reviewing the Skar ZVX vs Skar VXF subs?
The following is for Parker:
(Details): Considering they are so fricken similar and everyone I've run across who are interested in either one (which has been a lot of bassheads) they wonder the same thing, 'which sub is better?' I don't think Skar even knows or at least Skar doesn't let us know that they know. Yes one is better at one thing than the other, but overall for both bass and music, which is better is the question.. and especially SPL/dB testing!! Supposedly the ZVX is for SPL and the VXF is for SPL/Music. As you'll see, they both have the same 1500 RMS rating, a 300 oz versus 306 oz difference in motors/magnets, different voice coils, and of course similar but different detailed subwoofer specs (Fs, etc) After conducting a week of research (approx 15 hours total) I decided on the ZVX however, it ended up being 'sold out', therefore not wanting to deflate my excitement, I immediately purchased TWO of the VFX 15s! (originally was supposed to get just one, WHOOPS) Hope this info helps you with your consideration to compare. It's not for me, because I already made my irreversible choice, I suggest this video/comparison because I believe it will be popular, ultimately benefiting you and all those interested.. possibly even Skar. I understand if you'll need quite a bit of time to do this test considering the two subs will cost around $550 but with the way your channel is progressing, I firmly believe Skar would be interested in sponsoring this video especially considering it would be a win-win situation for them regardless which sub takes home the victory. It's all about presentation (the TH-cam video accompanied professional letter describing why Skar would directly benefit by having you PD conduct the unbiased testing versus if Skar were to make the same video. Plus I believe you have a bigger following than them, or at least you ought to!! Let me know if you would like a few more tips or for me to review your letter prior to sending if you do (should) decide to do this.. for your viewers =) Oh plus mention how you will then Give Away the two subs to two lucky viewers based on a contest to write which sub they choose and why, or why SKar Audio is the best choice nowadays in the car audio industry.. or the closest to guess the SPL, or something similar to butter Skar up into sending you one of each sub.. if you know what I mean. Heck they may send you a bunch of product as long as you promise to rock it in your own personal ride for a period of one year. Not a bad idea to suggest bro.

Dear parker. I have a request of cheap subs. Right now on amazon the earthquake tremor x 12 single 4 ohm sub is 90 bucks. The 10 is more expensive idk why... but I originally bought a pair of tens a decent time back and they still hit hella hard for what they cost then. About 75 dollars a piece. They were the single 8 ohm. Discontinued. But for a budget banger video I'm curious what you would think of the 12! I'm giving my tens anywhere from 500 to 850 rms on my hifonics amp which also has great dynamic rms as well. In my box I listen to music with tones and bumps from 28 to 60 hz. I'm also curious what the 12s meter at closeish to the rated power. Only sad thing is the 10s and 15s used to be under 100 bucks as well but prices changed..

Well worth the money highly recommend
