    Thank you Paul Rubens for sending the Qiaomei paints for our viewers to see. These are truly wonderful paints to work with. The inclusion of some rare pigments like PY153, PR88 and PO49 makes this stand out in my opinion. The price is also very reasonable for its quality. I am always thrilled at how Paul Rubens develop and expand their product line.

      Hahaha. I started using 4k a few videos ago cause a friend told me to "future proof" my videos if I can. So, I tried 4k. Videos are clearer, but cons are, of course, bigger memory needed and my skin pores are also more visible. 🤣

    Greetings Jay from Toronto, Ontario
    🇨🇦 I never, ever, ever get bored of your sample paintings. Please don't say that, it makes me 😢 I only wish that you would paint them in real time so that I could follow along more easily with less rewinds. I enjoy your informative paint reviews but love your delightful landscapes as I paint small myself. I constantly return to your site not for the paint reviews, once is usually enough for that, but for reviewing the sample paintings. If some folks complain about a too long video then they can easily skip the sample paintings and / or the brand comparisons but please, please, please don't short change your faithful followers who adore your little painting samples. Cheers 🫠

    Being that PO 49 was discontinued more than 20 years ago, and Daniel Smith greedily bought up all the remaining stocks of it when it happened (and have been out of it themselves for several years now), I'm a little suspicious of how and/or where Paul Rubens would have acquired a supply of it. Particularly a large enough supply to put into a large-scale production run of paints. If there *is* a lab in China somewhere producing PO 49 again exclusively for Paul Rubens...hooooo boy, that could be absolutely game changing for them, as well as the art world.

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, that's true. I would like to believe that Paul Rubens is able to manufacture their own real PO49 and that they soon bring genuine Quinacridone Gold pigment in the market, as demanded by artists and not by auto industry. 🙏

      It's a Chinese product, don't expect much honesty

    • @SwedePotato314
      @SwedePotato314 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KobieKthere is a HUGE difference between products that are mass produced in a factory (and a lot of them just so happen to be in China) versus a quality product that is made in China. Don’t confuse all those mass produced items’ quality with a legacy brand like Paul Reubens just because they come from the same country. China is HUGE and just like any country, there are some parts with less money and some parts that are VERY wealthy. Watercolor painting is a Chinese tradition that dates back thousands of years. Paul Reubens is a brand that is well known in China for their quality art aupplies. And of course there at tons and tons of factories in the lower income areas of China that make lower quality art supplies by the dozens. But don’t condemn a pigment, a lab, a brand or a paint just because it is from China. There is good and bad everywhere, and good and bad quality brands from every country. Legacy brands from China like Paul Reubens are not comparable to the mass produced stuff.

      @jennw6809 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@SwedePotato314 I agree Reubens is pretty legit, I'm very impressed that they put pigment numbers on their soft pastels and oil pastels, which is not necessarily standard in those media. Even more impressive, they appear to use their good, lightfast watercolor pigments for their pastels. Many other companies use pigments of questionable lightfastness in their soft pastels. On the other hand there are clearly some mistakes in the color charts, but I think they mean well!

    So shocked to see all these rare and discontinued pigments in this line! Too bad there's so many unnecessary mixes as well.
    I always get surprised that you rate White Knights over Qor :). Is that just because of price?

    • @AllanJayQuesada
      @AllanJayQuesada  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I agree that they have to many unneeded mixes here. The rare pigments should've been left alone. Reharding Qor vs. White Nights, i don't think WN is better. WN was just shown later in the comparison so sorry for the confusion. But yes, they're alot cheaper and I have explored more of White Nights than Qor. I'm so glad though that Qor now has some new colors. So tempting.
