Nice awning that, we have the Kalari 420 you mentioned, we like it but it needs 2 of us to get it on the rail. Do you prefer the Montelena to your old Kalari 420??
Thanks Brett for your comment. we loved our Kalari 420 and had it for just under 3 years with out any issues at all . But then we saw the Montelena we decided to buy it for the extra depth and the height , and in all its a great awning . I could put up the kalari on my own , and can just about put up the montelena with a struggle on my own as its 37kg . Would i buy another montelena. If we could probably not but its now been discontinued , had a fair still ongoing issues with air beams and pooling water on the second section of the roof . And as we speak its gone back to Vango for the 3rd time for them to look at. once we know what’s going on with it there will be a follow up vlog on there decision.
@@mark-hazelsmotorhomeadventures Its weird why they discontinue them after a short period since the release. A long story short about our Kalari, we bought it brand new in July 2019 and it wasnt right, the stiching was wrong at the bottom somehow as no matter what we tried it wouldnt sit right, just looked crooked. I took it back to the dealer who sent it back to Vango with photos, they changed something, not sure what, we went away and the problem was still there. Couldnt believe they sent it back to us without erecting it and seeing it still wasnt right. We went back to the dealer who sent it back to Vango for second time, .....they sent it back with a snotty note saying 'awning is wet' which it wasnt, so Im up at the dealers and I said youre going to have to put it up here and youll see what I mean. He said Ill do it next Saturday. So a week later we went back to dealers and the Kalari is up and I said see what I mean, but he wouldnt admit it he was just looking at it without wanting to agree, his young sales assistant stood there said to me I see what you mean. Dealer then said Ill tell you what, the Vango rep is coming on Tuesday and Ill see what he says. Basically he turned up on Tuesday and said straight away it not right, and we got a brand new one straight away. Which has been fine since except for an air beam popping but weve since replaced. We only use it 4 or 5 times a year, when were away for 4 nights or more, other than that we have a Suncamp 260 for weekends etc. Vango were shit except for the rep seeing it and replacing it, so Ill be interested to see how you get on!!
@@brettcrook6102 now there’s a surprise in your message ours got sent back last time for being wet 😡 and guess what it wasn’t !! I saw the rep at the NEC when I was doing a vlog logoed up T-shirt on etc couldn’t do enough for me at the time but dragging there heals now. Dealer I had it from says its not fit for purpose so they are on my side. We both pushing for replacement but will have to be the later model hopefully sorted this time ???? . We are away a lot more than you said but if we are away for short periods we also use a suncamp sc air 390. Which. You can see in the trip to Witherensea vlog . If you go on vango’s website on there refurbished section . There is 1 or 2 of each item, they sell when looking at montelena they say they have 20 +. Dealer said vango wont admit to there being a issue. But dealer said it’s discontinued due to on going issues. Vango only received it back today so I’m waiting on what there decision will be .
