Really excellent video mate, I had one go on the last trip so I'll be using your instructions to repair it this weekend. Thanks very much 👍😁
@neilmayes1189 Thank you for the comment it can be quite fiddly but take your time and be patient and you should be fine lots of other have successfully repaired there blinds after following the video best of luck Mark & Hazel 👍
Thanks for sharing this, it's been a few years since we were there.
Thanks Glyn yeah that was our first time there and only a short stop we will be going back to here at some point in the near future
Oooh nice sunset x
Many thanks for this video but want to add a caveat. Our blind, which is the centre front window blind, so quite large, has been broken for some time but as we are planning an extended trip and wanted to be able to move the blind so we could open the window [we kept it pulled down and didn't dare touch it], I asked others if it could be repaired, and being told no, I searched the internet and came across your video. Ours was exactly the same as yours, the spring had come out of its housing. So following your step by step instructions, we fixed it back in place with no difficulty at all and then tried to re-assemble it. That's where it all went wrong. We could not put the second side piece into the slots of the top bar. You said it took a bit of effort to do it and boy were you right. We simply weren't strong enough to pull the two pieces apart to get the side rail to fit the top. That's where the caveat comes in, I would give a warning not to attempt this unless a strong arm chap is stood by. After two days of huffing and puffing, this morning, we girded our loins, ate our spinach and with the help of a broom handle, finally managed to get the two pieces to fit. It's now back in place - thank you. It's certainly a very useful video and no doubt will help others with these blinds. I would add my husband is nearly 80 and I'm in my 70's and no longer possess the strength of Samson. I now need to find out how to adjust the tension of the strings, the top tensioning bar has no impact on them. I suspect we had such a probem getting it back together because the strings need loosening, it is very stiff to move the blind up and down. So the search is on.
@AWasp-o8e glad I could help has I said it’s not easy but with a bit of patience it works out . you can alter the tension at the side of the blind some are at the top some are at the bottom you just screw the slotted screw clockwise or anti clockwise wise depending on if it needs tightening or loosening
A good explanation of how you set things up. So many I forgot to mention in ours.
@@Ian-and-Antonias-Escapades thanks for the comment Ian & Antonia Ours was a rush job to be honest we didn’t film it till 10am on the Wednesday by time I’d edited it and uploaded to TH-cam it was almost 4-pm
@@mark-hazelsmotorhomeadventures I can't tell you how many times we have only just uploaded a video in time 😂
Mark I used your vid to fix my blind today. Thanks my friend
Not a problem glad I helped you fix you blind 👍👍
Thanks for that view of your day. The e-bikes are great aren't they, for getting to explore the local area.
Thanks for the comm Bob yeah they are I’ve got a new bike though since we last met hazels bike isn’t electric but we are looking at a conversion kit now sold the mirider to Julie off the collab Couple of weeks later after the meet up
Totally agree about TH-cam rather than normal TV. So much good stuff to watch on there!
thanks for the comment yeah so much good stuff and also to learn about 👍
You need an excuse to have a brew? Like the fact you have the beer without an excuse. Thanks for sharing this video.
Don’t need an excuse to drink tea definitely drink more Tea than I do beer TBH
Hello Mark and Hazel, yes exactly a cup of tea comes first for definite, we have our own jobs too. Enjoyed hearing how you spend your time whilst away, take care both, see you soon x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie and Tony we have just watched your video very similar things we do ours was only filmed today and uploaded today had to do a rush job to be honest look after yourselves and down your neck of the woods from Monday to Saturday see you soon x

Yep definitely film some of yer bike adventures 👍
@@ttxela yes I’ve got a new bike since the vanners meet up so putting it through its paces While a way next week I will film some of that this time well weather permitting 👍🏻
Hi Mark & Hazel. Seem a theme in many videos, a cuppa. Thanks for sharing your routine.
@@DesmondsDonders Hi David and Lyndsey yes definitely got to get the kettle out I always tell Hazel that’s the best way to check electric is working and filling the kettle shows the water is ok 😂😂😉😉
You just saved a marriage. Pulled onto a site and ping one of the side blinds pinged exactly like in your video. It was a bit more challenging with a 1m wide blind but followed you step by step guide and it was back up and fixed within the hour and no spare bits left afterwards. Thank you so much for a great video.
@stewartrobertson1215 yes your right the narrow blinds are a lot more challenging I did 2 of ours plus the large one in the video during the time we had the caravan . Glad I could of been assistance best wishes Mark & Hazel
The best thing for us about TH-cam is that it has increased our social circle no end. It was great to meet you last night. Cheers both 👍🏻
Thanks for the comment yeah I totally agree with what you say and yeah it was great to meet you both last night too ..👍
Really annoying when people doing diy work don't clean the area they're working on. Pros always do this...
Thanks for the comment this is just the way Ive done it. At no point do I claim im a pro
How is the 500 compared to the Up Mark? I know Andy(CYR) really rates his Up GTi. Not that I'm ready to drop down to a lower powered small car just yet.
Hi Dave Thanks for the comment hope your well . The Abarth drives a lot nicer than the up GTI still stiff but doesn’t crash and bang like the up GTI did over bumps , the 500 is actually a bit bigger than the GTI exterior wise but a lot smaller inside . The Abarth is definitely faster than the up and a lot more fun to drive this ones 165 bhp compared to the up at 115 bhp Fuel wise around the same take your time 48/55 to gallon drive it like you stolen it about 25 to gallon. Where the abarth beats the up is the exhaust sound but it’s not noisy inside
Thankyou mate, very helpful, a job for sunday, hope its successful or her indoors won't cook me a roast 😮😅
As in the video it can be quite fiddly but be patient take your time and it should work for a few more years
Brilliant instructions just fixed two off my blinds and it worked thank you xx
I’m glad you fixed your blinds and that I could help you out x
What time of year is this? Very quiet
@Manc_adventures it was late April 2023 when we was at Don Amott Lakeside
Hi Mark, Thanks for sharing the video, as always very informative and well presented. Would it be possible for you to list in either a reply to this comment or your video description the parts you bought? I’m sure it would help a lot of people not least myself who is looking at replicating everything you have installed. Great work and thanks again.
@Bernabond thanks for the comment , and hope it will help you out doing the same . I actually thought I’d put the camera Information in the description but just checked and I must of forget I will update the description now thanks again Mark
LINKS NOW UPDATED IN VIDEO DESCRIPTION 👍👍
Thank you
@Bernabond if yours has already got the Waeco/Dometic camera the cable adapters are in the length of cable drop down section of the website 👍
I just repaired our rear camera but I'd really likem to do the same as you and replace it for a dual view camera. It was routing the cables that put me off. So, I'm assuming, watching your video, that the existing cable supports two cameras as long as youi buy the splitters for each end?
Hi Ian thanks for the comment . Yes the cable does support 2 cameras But not at the same time you just had the splitter cables to each end . And use v1 for looking backwards and v2 to see the different images When reversing you can have v2 connected to auto change when reversing But I choose not to do that option . And to be honest I much prefer the mirror monitor to the radio screen as it wouldn’t always stay on . And the hole system twin cameras the mirror mounted screen and splitters are only 1/4 of the price for the original waeco camera
@@mark-hazelsmotorhomeadventuresWe had a mirror based screen on our previous motothome and much preferred it to the dash one. I will order the same kit as you with the Dometic adaptors and the mini fuse tap. Your video has really helped me make the decision.
Yeah it’s a good system Ian I’m really pleased with it And I think you will be too . It does come with decent instructions as well
Goodone Mark
Thanks for the comment Dave hope your all well

Just catching up…. Enjoyed your walk around Kessingland. This site is earmarked for refurbishment next year fingers crossed 🤞 as the facilities are more than 25 years old. Great drone shots at the end. We used to walk from there to Lowestoft along the beach. Incidentally Kessingland is in Suffolk as is Lowestoft the most easterly point in UK but just to the north of the town it’s Norfolk 😃👍🏻 Great vlog, safe travels 🚐💙 Trev
Hi Trev & Sue , thanks for the comment. We both liked it here and will definitely be going back at some point has Hazel had a back injury and didn’t see most of the surrounding areas . Ironically we visited this site after watching your vlog 🚐 💙 Mark & Hazel
What a shame the first one was such a problem, good to see things got better and you are still carrying on camping
Yeah we still enjoyed it and that’s why we carried on
Sounds like you’re happy with your current one & interesting to see your other choices. Thanks, Em 💜
Thanks Em yeah we are happy with our current one and will have it for awhile more Hazel wants a Aclass eventually but that’s no where in sight as yet
Fair old range of vans there. Fixed bed is definitely the way 👍
Yes have to agree about the fixed bed, takes up space but better than making it up every evening
Good to hear your caravan and motorhome stories, you certainly had some experiences. Safe travels 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev n Sue
Yeah it didn’t start off to well but didn’t put us off enjoying life as you do, and Upgrading along the way .
I remember 3 of those vans guys
Hi Daz only 3 ? To be precise it’s 3 vans and our first Motorhome best wishes Mark and Hazel
Hello Mark and Hazel, Oh wow! that must of been awful with the water coming into the caravan, didn't put you off having another caravan. You certainly know your caravans. Wev'e heard other stories about drop down beds. Your present motorhome is lovely, thank you for sharing , x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie and Tony it wasn’t much fun to honest as the lounge made up the bed and all the bedding got soaked
The best thing we ever did was move to a motorhome and the icing on the cake was moving to the Autograph 79-4T like you 😀
Yeah we love this van when we sold our first Motorhome an d started looking we compared everything else to this and just kept coming back to the 794-T we original wanted the island bed version but found the single bed version had more storage
Wow, sounds like you've been full time leisure vehicle shopping.😂 I like your present van thanks for sharing.
Thanks Glyn yeah we just compared everything to the van we have now and none come close to
LOL it is the Light Side.
You forgot to mention hazel looking at a a class 😂
Hi Neil 😂she was only looking 👀 she ain’t got one though yet.
Happy wife remember 😂
Yeah I know told I’d buy a aclass car instead she wasn’t impressed
Thanks for the video. I had two blinds that had failed. Excellent step by step guide. Blinds now repaired.
@davidcremin782 glad I was able to help, seems to be a very common problem with these blinds best wishes Mark & Hazel
Looks a great site with great fish & chips
Yeah only spent a few days there but would definitely go back there and fish and chips were some of the Best we had Tbh
Very good point about dogs. I never let ours walk on or foul other peoples pitches, so would appreciate others keeping off ours (humans too). All too often, I end up clearing up after other people's dogs which in many cases are let off to roam free. Good video by the way 👍.
@christanner8104 thanks Yeah I know what your saying it does my head in. Never had to pick up dog mess yet And you always get the odd Person that don’t put there dog on a lead seen that far to many times TBH
Hi there i have a self built campervan that is registered with the dvla as a motorcaravan and i do wave at motorhomes/campervan but motorhomes never seem to wave back why do you think that is.???
@garysmart7132 I’m not to sure to be honest. we have noticed that We wave at motorhomes and Camper vans but not all wave back either could be a camper to camper thing and a Motorhome to motorhome scenario
Just subscribed. We're pitched up just over from you now and our daughter is ecstatic there's "youtuber's" next to us... and that you have a parrot!!
Thankyou for the subscribing we appreciate that . Are you still on site ?
@@mark-hazelsmotorhomeadventures we are indeed, we leave tomorrow after a week at this lovely site 👍
@@Clegg. yeah we leave tomorrow onward to our next site We are just cooking dinner now So after 3 if your Daughter wants a sticker and to see pebbles the parrot 🦜 let us now
Hi Mark and Hazel, yes we find people that walk onto your pitch annoying, yes can imagine the smoke from a bbq can be very annoying we don't tend to use one as we can only carry so much being a small van. Great video x Julie and Tony x
Thanks Julie and Tony that’s a good reason space is a premium in a Motorhome
One of our favourite things to do on a site is chat to folk 😊 But, we don’t interrupt when people are leaving. Some good points. Em 💜
Thanks for the comment Em yeah same here we chat to loads of people on site but never disturb anyone that’s setting up or packing away
Some people seem to have BBQs several times a day, every day and don't seem to care who it bothers 😟
We think that’s how society is going now . Just care about them selfs and not worry about others
I've got 99 problems but a pitch ain't one 😎
Great subject on this vlog well done Alex keep up the good content 👍
Most sites don't like you hanging your washing out. So in my opinion the bbqer shouldn't need to let you know he's bbqing. Having said that I don't see the point of bbqing, because by the time you've set it up. You could have cooked the food on the proper cooker.😂
Fair comment there Glyn just think food tastes better off a BBQ
Think everyone has said about pitch invaders. Yes, I often get interrupted when hitching up the car.
Yes the pitch invaders are a big thing . Yeah same here just connecting up the Aframe at the last site had 2 people chatting and amazed how it all went together and was surprised it was strong enough to tow a car 😮 so had to check all connections again just to make sure I’d done everything
Love this. I cannot hear you my music is too loud. 😂😂
Yes it very annoying when you can hear music from a pitch 4 or 5 spaces away
Woohoo! Have fun!
Thanks for the comment we are out with Motorhome so will always be fun
