The form of this race is rock solid.. Storm The Stars battled valiantly at York to win the Group 2 Great Voltigeur .. Highland Reel went on to better things in America, when destroying the field in the Group 1 Secretariat Stakes..Giovanni Canaletto held his form with Storm The Stars.. So it's only on Carbon Dating to do his part and win that goddamn Maiden that still eludes him after he was tonked at Fos Las the other week.. I think Jack Hobbs is the type who can actually go on to eclipse his Derby conqueror, Golden Horn, if not this year, then next year and the year after once he's fully developed.. He'll certainly reap more glory than him anyway, in prize money and prestigious group 1 titles.. that's what I think.. and since he's by Halling, out of a Swain mare, I think it's likely he will..
GBeret83 Yeah, I think that's true at this stage. he needs 12 furlongs, but in time I can see him learning how to race over shorter as he's still quite immature and was looking around a bit in the Champion Stakes; the winner had a massive experience edge on him that day. But yeah, even if Flintshire or Shonan Pandora turn up, I can see him being the one to beat. Hopefully he builds on his Irish Derby heroics and proves himself top-class over the next year or two :)
Jack Hobbs and Highland Reel are the two survivors since the 2015 Irish Derby. The latter won the Prince Of Wales's Stakes lately at Ascot.
Jack Hobbs
I HOPE TO SEE HIM IN ASCOT CHAMPION AND NOT IN FRENCE AND NEXT YEAR in better next year with good races at 4Y in uk
