i use to race off road down at 555 Rc raceway in Bartow, FL. i moved away and lost interest because there wasnt a track within an hr of me. id love to get back into it but years later there still isnt a local track. back yard bashing just isnt as fun as competitive racing. I had an RC10GT-FT i built myself when i was 14. it had a OS12. i won the lotto with that engine. i could just about keep up with the 1/12 buggies around the track until we got half way down the strait. then id lose a second or more each lap. as it was i had to roll into the throttle less i wheelie out of every turn. i really loved that truck. i usually ran it around 235-240*F. i prolly drank 100gallons of BlueThunder 30%.

I have an RB mods version of this engine. Very cool little engines!

These old Nova .12s can get pretty confusing as there are a pretty decent amount of versions, but there a consistent factor I’ve noticed and it’s that the “race” versions have a 7x17x5mm front bearing and the more base model versions use the standard 7x19x6mm front bearing. The “race” models will also use a 12mm crank that has a bigger opening, bigger inner bore, and such while the base models use an 11mm crank. There’s obviously a bunch of other minute and major differences but those are the two most apparent and easily identifiable differences. I have one of these engines and it’s definitely a done at home modded engine. Whoever did this engine definitely had their own style in terms of modifying engines. Pretty dope looking engine and I’m curious as to how well it runs

That’s a fun looking sleeve for sure.
-I’m with you, it’s been hand done but, done pretty well. The proof is in the pudding though.... did it help with anything ⁉️

Doesn't a small charge of fresh air fuel mix get pulled through the exhaust port and then pushed back into it from the exhaust pulse wave?

I have an old NOVA 12 S5 Race engine,v(NSS12S5 I believe). Can anyone tell me what glow plug to use, nitro fuel, etc. I tried starting it with sidewinder 20% bump starter kicked it over pretty good, wouldn't start. Any help with this thing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
