My morning is made when I can wake up to find one of your videos. Your save looks like you meant to have those splatters there. I find that sometimes the correction of my mistake is what really makes the card.
Love this idea! So accessible for anyone - cut your own stencils, add paste and/or glitter. Minimal tools and materials required to achieve amazing results. Thank you.
Thanks for all you informative videos. Learned lots in doing so. In seeing your storage containers for embossing powders, I thought you’d like to hear what I learned to do to make knowing what color is in jar. In my case I embossed and then glued to the jar top a small die-cut circle that I’ve embossed with the color in the jar. It certainly makes finding a color faster for me. Or you can label the container with the colors that are inside. Well, Christine that’s my two-cents worth. Love your cards.
I think that’s a great idea. It would take me forever to do that to label all my individual jars of powder. I should use the different colours more though!
Love your save! Such a great idea for layering stencils. I was thinking that maybe, after you had applied the paste, if you removed only the TOP stencil, you could sprinkle on the embossing powder before removing the leaf stencil. That way no powder could get on any of the white space. Then remove the leaf stencil, and heat your panel. Just an idea.I always enjoy hearing your creative process. Such fun!!😊
Thanks, it’s a great idea, in fact I did just that on the next video I made, which together with another i have deleted from my phone in a confused moment! ☹️ often I could retrieve deleted things but this time I don’t seem to be able to! Hey Ho!
@@Chrissieannie I’m so sorry you lost the follow-up video 😔. I, too, am in my seventies and a retired teacher, and technology often flummoxes me! In addition, watching your occasional hiccups ( “I just had that a minute ago.”) while you are making your wonderful cards makes me feel absolutely normal and a little less inept! Thanks for sharing your fabulous art and your journey creating it. You are a joy to watch!
The two stencils you chose go together wonderfullly Chrissie, and I love the way you shaded the leaves and then added the pattern through that with the texture paste and then added the embossing powder, which is very pretty, and you rescued it brilliantly with the stamped and embossed dots. Definitely a technique to try. x
Love when a TH-camr brings smiles to my face and you are definitely one of them Chrissy! You make my day every time I watch your videos. You would be a hoot to make cards with! I love how this came out! Nice save too. For me, it probably would have been a big ole mess. LOL I definitely need to remember to do this when I forget my antistatic powder! But you saved the panel and it made a gorgeous card! Hugs, Brenda
Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you create this card. It. Shame about the oops 😬 moment, about you pulled it off. Well done, I’d have never heard thought of that. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Hi. Nice save! I thought it looked good before with just the paste added but I also like the sparkling look, too. I have some texture paste that I've been a bit hesitant to try since I'd had no idea what to do with it really but now I do so thank you for another excellent video and for sharing your gorgeous card panel. Have a brilliant weekend. 😊
Oh I so love this! Such a fab technique and a fantastic rescue with the gold splatter. Thank you again for showing us new techniques that we can try and also ideas on how to rescue things if they go awry! ❤
You took us on a wonderful Adventure today Chris; never deterred by unexpected results, you merely pivot on the spot and invent a solution to save the day. So clever and great fun to watch. When I was a kid there used to be a Radio play called the "Perils of Pauline'. I some times think of it after you've averted a crisis and emerged triumphant! Thanks so much. ⛈🌩🌞
Thanks Helen, I did make a couple more videos yesterday and thanks to my confusion with Google photos I seem to have lost those plus all of my photos from 2023! Often I could retrieve deleted stuff but I didn’t seem to see where to go for them this time! I’ll press on !
@@Chrissieannie What perturbing feeling when one notices images and precious items are no longer available on the computer! I'm praying that the tech Gods are smiling down on you as you attempt to retrieve your videos and precious photos.
Nice save Ms. Chrissie👍🏼, way to go!!! I would’ve probably did another 1, if that was me. I feel the same way with layering die cuts, that’s why I never got around to purchasing them.
Chrissie, that card technique is spectacular. You are so ingenious with you ideas. I really love how you did this and think that gold splatter was a real finisher. Beautiful.
Lots of food for thought on today’s video. I love your type of layering rather than the new technique that appears to be so popular. A very inspiring morning…thank you❤️❤️
This is fabulous! I took a stenciling class years ago and she kept telling us to layer our stencils. It was on fabric not paper but same method. Although I love card making, garment sewing is still my favorite hobby. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
Another great video, Christine! I love how you turn an accident into a design opportunity. I'm learning so much from you. I have the sizzix stencil sheets and to be honest, I'm not impressed. I use them for vellum like flowers so it'll give you an Idea what they're like. I've made stencils using laminating cardstock. It's better than the sizzix, I'd be happy to pass on the link to the tutorial for you if you'd like. Thanks so much for helping me on my venture into c&s techniques 🦋 🦋
Yes I just said I was disappointed with the Sizzix stencil film, the only thing I can think of is because it's thin, you get less of a ridge if using with other stencils or masks. ❤
Been having a think on how to achieve the same result without the sticky residue problem. If you ran the stencils through your platinum then clean them to remove the stick & stay. The slight texture might hold the stencils (just) for you to add your paste. Obviously I've not tried it yet🤣 and I'm not sure how much embossing you would get through 2 stencils. Another thought... Let the texture paste dry, then reposition the clean stencils over the top and use versamark on top. No good for showing us due to the drying time🤣. More playtime and experimenting once I've finished making my Mums card for Sunday. Exx
What a great effect though! It looks very vintage on camera, to me anyway. See, even your experiments end up creating something original and exciting. 😊
So entertaining to watch the creative saga unfold. Great save; think you got a better result than if you had wiped the excess powder before the initial heating.
Really playing with stencils and just bought some mylar (or whatever) to make my own using dies. Would love to see more videos about making your own stencils...any tips you'd like to share before I just jump in? LOL! I do love your technique of layering stencils...and I thought the project looked fabulous after you added the paste and thought you were done! It was so elegant at that point. Clearly I'm a "less is more" crafter! Thanks for doing something just a bit different..
I’m going to carry on a little more with stencils I think. I preferred the leaf without the embossing powder if I’m honest but I thought I’d give it a go!😊
Well recovered🤣 I've had similar problems when making masks for stamping and forget to remove the sticky residue before embossing. Just received a parcel of Stix2 low tack tape, I know you love the company, hope I become a convert. Ex
Would it help if you put your green embossing powder/browns etc in the same boxes? For. Me, I put embossing powder on the top of the lid, gently emboss it and I always know what the powder will look like.
@@Chrissieannie Have you got a 'sand eraser'? They're great for the odd ink mark, but you did have a little rash of heat embossed dots to tackle. Anyhow, I reckon your solution/save worked out even better than perhaps you originally envisaged! x
Oh, I love you I haven't stopped laughing .... just remind me never to go to any fairs with you !! Don't think we would be any good for each other. I'm in australia and feel quite homesick , your accent is very close to mine, soul sisters hahahaha
I tried that on the next video which I’ve miraculously managed to delete permanently before uploading to TH-cam. Not a good day yesterday really!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Love it! I'll be interested to hear what you think about the Sizzix stencil film, as I was a bit disappointed, it's like expensive tracing paper, but you might like it. Have you heard of the new stuff that's like acetate, but easier to cut, something like Dura La, sorry my brain isn't on full steam yet? ❤
