wow this performance reminded me of how close this guy is to being a generational talent he changed that game so many times with his pace, dribbling and athleticism at a level ive only seen maybe r9 do but his intelligence just cannot be coached to any high level, always that one occasion where he beclowns himself by dribbling too much or scuffing a shot it's pretty heartbreaking cos he has the insane genetics to essentially do as he pleases in a game but can't be reliably coached to always benefit his teams system
Honestly I can't think of a more frustrating player. Quite possibly the greatest pure athlete to play the sport, the guy should've been contending for Ballon D'Ors by the time he was 20 if only he had half a working brain cell. Still love him though. I often wonder if he were French or Brazilian or simply from a different era how far would he have gone. I think the team centered approach of Barca/Spanish fb stunted at least the creative side of a player who was born an individual talent meant to be unleashed as a weapon instead of a cog in a finely tuned machine as with Barca.

There is a reason Liverpool bought Jota instead of Traore, and Traore isn't even regular starting XI at Wolverhampton. His build and pace are exceptional, dribbling is good while not top class, and passing, shooting, and most importantly decision making are pretty average. Slows down the match tempo despite running fast.
For all that is said about his lack of a true football brain, he is notably improving every time I see him play. When he arrived at Villa from Barca, he was exciting but predictable. His time at Boro taught him how to be more involved in the game, while his time at wolves has allowed him to flourish and grow. If he can continue to grow and learn, he could be a world beater by the time he hits his prime. The question is, can Wolves be the place for him to do it?
