1 Can of Drained Pinto or Pink Beans
1 Tbsp of Cooking Oil
1 Tbsp of Sofrito
1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
1 Yellow Seasoning Packet
Half of A Red Onion
Recao/Culantro/Cilantro Ancho Leaves
1 Tbsp of Tomato Paste
1 Celery Rib
Half of An Aji Cubanelo (Cubanelle/Italian Pepper) or Any Bell Pepper You Have on Hand
Cilantro
1-2 Pieces of Auyama (Pumpkin/West Indian Pumpkin)
1 “Bean Can” Of Water = 2 Cups

Hi Cousin! The exact measurements are: 1 can of beans, 2 cups of water. Yes! You can totally add 1 cubed potato and ham, add both in during the sazon/sofrito building process, and the bean gravy will thicken with the potatoes :-)

Can you update the recipe? The orange packet wasn’t in ingredients & then the onion, celery & pepper wasn’t used, even though you added sofrito kinda confusing.

Hey prima! I use half of a chicken bouillon cube, and a replacement for the sazon packets would be a dash of adobo (1/4th of a teaspoon)

Hello cousin, I wouldn’t recommend store-bought sofrito - but if that's what you have on hand, then, give it a go!

Am I buying the wrong beans? I usually buy red kidney beans.
It depends on your preference! I use red kidney beans for moros (bean rice) for my stewed beans I use pink, pinto, or roman beans.
