Finally! Someone, the great singer Audrey Assad, has put this wonderful poem to music. A lot of people who will grieve over the loss of a loved one will be able to find some comfort with this song.
I heard this song for the first time last night and since I’ve been constantly on the verge of tears with feeling set free. For months I’ve not gone to sleep at night without contemplating and fearing the unknown and death, convinced that I would not wake up. In this song I’ve realized that I’ve been giving reverence to death and not to Christ, since then I’ve been completely shaken by the weight and glory of God.
A hauntingly, mesmerizing melody and lyric. I was sad to hear of Audrey's questioning her Catholic faith. She is one of God's generals leading masses of people to Christ through her emotive vocals and God inspired lyrics. Not a surprise that (Universalist) Richard Rohr had a hand in casting doubt through his lukewarm, heretical writings. God will not be mocked, and the millstone waits for many in positions of authority corrupting God's children. WE are all on a faithwalk and that walk is not usually a straight line. Audrey, your best work awaits you in God's church. Blessings
I've probably listened to this song upwards of one hundred times and it still gives me chills. Seriously, one of the best songs ever. Please come do a show in Louisville KY!
I heard you on Relevant Radio last year , I enjoyed your interview and looked you up on ITunes. I now have a lot of your music, your voice is truly angelic. Thanks for sharing.
I'd love to hear the decision as to why you sing "when you will be no more" for such short time... I think I could listen to that refrain forever, really. :) Beautiful song, Audrey.
Superbe! I really like it! First time I'm listening to it. Superbe! That's mine kind of music Bravo Audrey... If there are CDs, I am putting you on my list. Keep up..... please!! Thanks and take care Marcel

Beautiful.
John Gunther's book, "Death Be Not Proud" really affected me as a 13 year old boy. It's a moving (and true) story.
Absolutely stunning. Speaks volumes to me now in a season of acedia.

Você não irá me matar

Tell Isaiah to put his clothes on! lol, jk. Why do you have a naked guy there? It's a little unsightly, but beautiful song.
