The 60s Japanese versions were just a cash in on the name , but served to keep the King Kong name alive at least.....the 1976 Dino De Laurentis film was promoted as the the best ever , but sadly delivered an indulgent commercialised mess. Peter Jackson however, who loved th e 1933 classic delivered his classic in full homage to the original. Others have since done versions of King Kong ( some not so bad ....Skull Island, with Tom Hiddleston ) but the classic Kong will always be the 1933 AND Peter Jackson's 2005 versions. These are only my personal opinions..thank you.
