Lovely video Mary, a favourite walk of ours, I’m sorry I don’t often comment on your vids, we tend to watch them on the big screen and I forget to comment, but I assure you we watch and love them.😊
I was only there a week ago, although with 30 DofE students as they completed the Bronze expedition, we stayed at Barn Farm Birchover - but is a lovely area to walk
I think it was Derek's lucky day, 10 ladies to choose from, a lovely video again Mary with lovely countryside all around in all directions, you talked about it being quiet i was out last week doing one of Wainwright's Outlying fells and didn't see anyone from leaving the car until i returned, a different story from the central Lakes where it would have been busy.
For someone who didn’t do research you sure know a lot, amazing. What beautiful scenery in this area and the stones seem out of this world. I know you appreciate and never take for granted living in such a wondrous place, thank you for sharing it with us.
I've never been to this place before, but it just feels like home in your video. Must be in the blood. And as the song lyrics go, "When you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance!" Stones or no stones, sabbath or no sabbath.
😁 Morning Mary and dereck.. Yes, this is a lovley hike, I did virtually the same route 2-3 weekends ago starting from Robin Hoods Stride before hiking upto Stanton Moor and like yourself, bagged the trig 😁 then down to the nine ladies stone circle where on my visit it was very very busy so no dancing 🤣 then walked to Stanton in the Peaks for a quick pub lunch in the quite village, before making my way back to the car at Robin hoods stride via Harthill Hall, Bradford and a hilly assent on the Limestone Way upto Castle Ring. Roughly a 10 mile hike.. Woodland, open heathland, quite little villages and historic sites along the way. A really nice part of the peak district indeed.. Enjoyed this video you two 👍😁
A beautiful sandstone environment within all the limestone, what a lovely find! As as Southern softy, I love sandy heather/gorse landscapes 😊 Discerning Moo didn't want the sweaty hand grass then 😂 Ad hoc vid are good!
Another great video. I'm glad you're still here and not turned to stone! Ps. The wall around the stones was there in the early 80s, so that did well. Much better, though, without.
Next time you're on Stanton Moor you need to check out Doll Tor stone circle en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doll_Tor and the Earl Grey Tower en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reform_Tower,_Derbyshire both of which are fairly close to Nine Ladies. Nine ladies is just one of a trio of stone circles, but the other two are extremely hard to find.

I should get him doing voiceovers shouldn't I 😂 Thanks for your kind words about the unscripted video 😊 I don't mind sharing about what you asked at all, we got married in November 2020 outside in an ancient deer park. We were among the autumn leaves, surrounded by deer and wearing our hiking boots, puffy coats and warm hats. It was just the two of us, no legal documents or pieces of paper - that doesn't mean anything to us. We exchanged rings and said our own vows to each other in front of two male fallow deer 🦌🦌 Then came home after a lovely walk and ate vegan burgers 🤣 We met at a photography club before I left for the PCT, not ideal timing but we made it work 😆 I hope you get that much needed rain soon, can I send some of ours your way as it hasn't stopped raining here for at least a month I reckon!! Thanks for all your support here as usual Tracy ☺️
Wonderful, fun day. Two trigs and Nine ladies. Thanks for sharing. Dance, yoga poses, and trig on!
