Chennai metro is one of the joyful ride you can ever have in chennai. It covers almost many places in the city, There are some more projects on Phase2 will cover up the entire city with more than 120 KM (Diameter) in Chennai which makes city more gigantic. As we know that Chennai has better infracstructure than any other cities in the country. Chennai Metro is added more value to it. However Suburban Railway is the cake walk for many as it is very less price and covers one corner of the city to another corner. CMRL is offering lot of offers to develop the interest on Metro. They are slowly progressing in that.

Arey Mumbai is having Harbour, Main Line, Western, DD Buses, Taxis, Honest Autos .. Still How many Mumbaikars need? In Madras, British did'nt provide any Rly.lines except building the Central & Egmore Stations only. Besides Chennai Metro is a bit expensive than here in Hyb.Metro.

Chennai has all means of transport Emu, Mrts, Normal bus plus Electric buses (proposed), Large number of flyovers, elevated expressways (under construction), Metro trains by elevation as well as by Underground, Best road route (spider road plan) compared to other Indian metropolitans, Chennai has 2 major ports plus 1 private port is under construction, 1 airport with expansion in use and 2nd massive Greenfield under construction, meanwhile ferries were planned over Buckingham Canal on the southern part of Chennai, also Chennai's 2nd phase metro is under construction which covers a distance of 119 kms without adding the expansion plans...r u still think Chennai is backward in transport facilities 🤨😂

Its because metro was built near by suburban railway, and ticket price of it is much more lesser than metro.. Now everyone started using metro.

Yes, now the ridership has been exponentially increased. Also summer season going to be very intense, people would prefer this than any other mode of transportation.

From Mount Road Stretch to Airport Stretch parallel to suburban railway stations. It covers almost 50% of Metro routes. But this stretch has more population and also it is traffic congestion area.. Suburban trains are filled with too much crowd and it will very difficult to travel. This will give them more options.
