The Love to Cuddle Blanket uses bulky (5) weight yarn and faux fur yarn to create a super soft and warm crochet blanket!
    Difficulty - advanced beginner
    Supplies Needed (affiliate links):
    ● Bulky (5) weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors
I used Lion Brand Yarn Hue + Me (Desert) for Color A - shrsl.com/3zp3f
& Lion Brand Yarn Go For Faux (Baked Alaska) for Color B - shrsl.com/3ypj5
-Go For Faux is a super bulky (6) weight yarn but I was able to match gauge. Substitute either with any bulky (5) weight yarn or any yarn that can match the gauge.
    ● 10.00mm (N/P) hook - amzn.to/3mBUGa1
    ● Yarn Needle - amzn.to/3ahjKd4
    ● Scissors - amzn.to/3AiQWvq
Gauge: (uses the bulky weight yarn, not faux fur yarn for gauge swatch)
    7 STs x 8 Rows = 4” x 4” in SC
Adjust hook size up or down to meet gauge.

This is beautiful!!! I need to try this!!!! When I make graphgans instead of turning my work, I go to the other side of the table to avoid twists in the yarns. Thank you for sharing.

I have several skeins of the faux fur yarn and this looks like a great option to try it. Does the blanket look different on the back?

It looks the exact same on the back and front!

First off thank you for sharing! It’s gorgeous! I have a question… I want to use bernat blanket yarn… will this come out the same using a half double crochet/double crochet or do you have to use single crochet to get the pattern to look right? Bernat just gets so heavy when only doing a single.

Hi! You can use blanket yarn, the blanket will use turn out a bit larger than what I have here but it won't affect the design at all!

All I can say is, I attempted this blanket and it was a TRUE nightmare trying to find those stitches blind in the faux fur!!
After 5 hours of cursing, with 3 yarns and a quarter of the way through, I gave UP!!!. And attempting to frog was a nightmare , so.........I threw the thing down in disgust. What a waste of time and yarn!!

I think the faux fur would be confusing to me as well. I think using the same yarn but different colors would make this simpler and just as pretty.

Faux fur yarn does take some practice to get used to working with! You really need to rely on feel and not sight. You can definitely sub for another regular yarn in a contrasting color!

Aw, man. I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m sure that’s why Ally provided the alternative to just use regular yarn in an alternative color.
I’ve never used faux fur, but I have used super bulky velvet and it was a horror trying to find the stitches. 😅
I hope you find the patience to start again! 😊
