In 2007, I came to the UK as a student and worked as a research technician under the PSW category for 2 years. Subsequently, my university/employer sponsored me for another 4 years at a salary of £20,000. Meanwhile, UKBA rules changed, and the new rules insisted that the same job has to be a PhD-level job with increased requirements of £27000 when you apply for tier 2 renewal. Despite lacking a PhD, my employer raised my salary and facilitated a work permit. Yes, UKBA can change goalposts, and the rules of the day apply when it comes to renewal, at least in my case.
Listen guys, save your money on visas and be proud to study in some of the best universities your country has to offer the grass is not always greener on the other side ! UK situation is very bad for its current citizens..:: cost of living here is absolutely absurd and people cannot even afford to live anymore on their basic salaries it’s just too dman expensive here…. Rent , food, shopping , bills etc etc

However, if you possibly can elaborate more on healthcare dependent visa, if one wants to extend the Tier 2 healthcare visa after spring 2024, will the dependent be able to extend the visa simultaneously as they are already in the UK. Looking forward to your response.

There is confusion. 38700 is for those British national/settled (ILR) and other refugee (Appendix FM) wish to bring their family member. This is Family visa not PBS dependant visa. They did not say anything about Skilled Migration who are already in UK, can not bring dependant or not

There is nothing new in here. The UK visa application process and requirements keep changing. About 12 yrs ago when I migrated on Tier 1 the minimum salary requirement was 50K. It was Theresa May at the centre back then. Things were relaxed after Boris came in power. So I am not surprised by the announcement. Fact remains, the cost of living is too high due to inflation that cannot be explained and the economy is not as strong. Besides there is too much bureaucracy to get ahead in career so it will take a while to grow in terms of salary. On top of that it’s a tough geography as a business to crack. USA, Middle East, Singapore are better geographically for businesses

My Question is given the 40k GBP requirement who will literally give that kind of money to us freshers ?? Or should we do something to plan study in UK & job in Australia or something ? And if they are going to cut corners on PSW then what about TIER-2 work visas? Because companies do have training and other stuff that may require a fresher to do stuff for 1-2 yrs on training/apprenticeship. It feels like they are chopping their foot because it is tired of walking.
There wee 2.5L Illegal migrants housed @ 4&5* Hotel, in next few months they will be given Assylum status & certainly at least 1.5Kakh jobs will be Taken over by these people! There has been huge shortage of accommodation already, please take a wise decision before moving to UK 🇬🇧
Dont even think to apply for PSW if you are experienced guy there is no point of paying money for the job and hoping to get sponsorship. if someone does not know the policy i would say check that Government has clear instructions on that no one can offer permanent role for psw holder bcz its illegal. so technically once your visa is about to expire probably your employer not gonna extend.

PSW is under review.. regarding the duration of stay.. it is now 2 years but mostly likely be reduced to less than a year.

I just want to discuss some points for the UK skilled worker Visa.
I am presently on a Student Visa and my family is on a dependent Visa till 26th January 2024.
There is a chance that I will get a sponsored skilled worker Visa before my Student visa expires.
1. Can my family apply for a dependent visa anytime after I get a sponsorship? OR do they have to apply before the new rule applies i.e. before April 2024?
2. Do I need any documentation to apply for my family's dependent Visa from my sponsored employer?
It will be great if you can guide me on these things.

It affects renewals too.. Companies will have to taken in to account the new rules from spring.

I have one query as we are already on tier 2 in the UK and after 3 years if we suppose to change the employer then the 37000 salary rules will be applied on us or we could get with the same existing rules if we switch employers within the UK only.

It depends. As UAE 🇦🇪 give work permit Visa . Can't be PR there. It may be same in uk. They need worker. After 3 years. They cam ask u to leave . No where is written. That u will be allowed to remain permanent resident.. so think it over

If you are applying in the month of October, then you will need a Skilled worker visa, that is, you will need a sponsored job that pays more than 38700. I think you can also have dependents if you are working using a graduate visa as long as you have a job that pays you more than 38700 since they are already in the UK, but you cannot bring dependents who are not living in the UK currently.
