Me and my wife came to UK in May 2023. I am as a student dependent. My wife studies going to finish in July 2024.
I did diploma in India. My boss where Iam working in UK he's ready to give me COS so I wrote PTE Last week and scored 50 marks overall.
Few of my friends telling me that dependent also can't switch into tier 2.
My doubt is I came to UK in May 2023 and if the rule is true then may I eligible to apply tier 2 or not.

If you are on psw visa and your partner or you working as a care worker or senior care worker before 11 of march and you want to change psw to skill worker visa in care and senior care home still you can stay as a dependent or apply as a dependent but only condition is that your care job must be start before 11 march

The only job you can get in the UK is care home! Other jobs have less than 1% chance considering new visa rules! Uni fees have gone up to around £17-20k! Inflation in Food and groceries is still growing higher! With rising pay, job cuts are increasing to reduce costs! Those who got settled during David Cameron’s era, don’t bother to tell you the truth and how horrible this country has become due to immigrants and geopolitics!
So apparently the other less than one percent my husband falls into that category because he works with the bank 🤷🏽♀️

I mean to say that you can apply for dependents too. Because 11 march was the last date, so nothing to worry if you have filed your visa on 11 march till 23:59. But if you are on 12 march, then it’s late. Hope it will help you

If you are financially well off and intension is to study, then yes, you can choose any country , university and course of your liking.
If your intension is to get PR and you are financially weak, a very big NO.
