Okay so this confirms that she is using an American accent bc I never knew that for sure and I always thought something about the way she spoke was off
So...Catriona is Irish and has to fake a British accent, Sam is Scots, but his real accent is British(?), so he has to fake a Scots accent, David Berry is Australian and has to fake a British accent...it must be very confusing. (I am an American, and I think Sophie's American accent is very good)

I love this show. It's so awesome. I am just sad that Richard Ranki wasn't giving the opportunity to play a more interesting and more highlandish Roger. I mean it would be so cool he would do such a great job but no we have boring writing Roger.
I quite like the Scottish Indiana Jones version of Roger & the fact he's obviously a man who knows the history but struggles to live in it.
He does well.
I’m happy to say that Roger isn’t boring at all in Season 6. His character has taken off!
Richard Rankin is a wonderful actor. Brianna really makes her American accent sound authentic.

Hard to believe they don't have chemistry
They are JUST NOW starting to seem more comfortable with each other as people. They STILL have no romantic chemistry, Sophie is better than she was but STILL a bad actor compared to her amazing co-stars, and now we know she has horrendous taste in music too.
Well, I find Sophie's background quite interesting and she is very talented.
I felt this way before too. I even skipped all the Roger/Brianna sciences. BUT They have much better chemistry in season 6. They are finally starting to be more comfortable and in sync. I think they will just keep getting better!

I was born the same year as Sophie and I can't stand Justin Bieber. Most of my music taste stems from pop and rock in the 1980s because of my mother.
Your mom has great taste. I also grew up in the 1980s. Check out Styx and Journey, two great bands.

I think her acting has vastly improved over the seasons.
I'm not convinced her British accent is authentic. It sounds more like an American who spent a short time over there, came back and adopted it to be more "interesting".
She’s from the north of England, Manchester same as me so I can tell you everyone here sounds like that. she doesn’t have a classic posh British accent, you can here the difference when she says words like drum

they chose her for Brianna LITERALLY because she was the only actress that FLINCHED when catriona went to touch her arm. OK....when was Claire ever abusive to Brianna? I could see that being a good casting decision if Claire was a secret child abuser, but......??? Maybe Sophie flinching was more of a personal experience thing than a good acting decision???
