I know. Hopefully, in a couple of days time, the Richard Oesterreicher biography will be online on www.andtheconductoris.eu. I can promise you there is a great anecdote about Lou Marini in it.
I thought that sax was some genius microtonal artistry, but he was drunk, lol :) Btw, in czechoslovakia we had band Plastic People of The Universe, which was microtonal and dissonat on purpose. An their sax sounded like this.
@@santoprattico6027 Yes, I know, I interviewed the conductor of this song many years ago. He told me about the group accompanying Christina Simon and their use of alcohol before the performance.
Middle ground, verging into rather good, IMHO, it's a bit sonically choppy, but she's pretty good, and everyone seems to be on the same page at least (apart from that sharp blast from the sax at one point - too much coffee, perhaps?). Not deserving of last, but not brilliant.
Pure class and sophistication. Too good for it's own good in ESC
Wow! Today better than ever! This is really impressive.
Simply beautiful! Even with an inebriated saxophone player.

The sax player is Lou Marini from the Blues Brothers (amongst others!). Great sax player...

What a piece! And what a performance!
She looks like coming out from a Klimt picture ;-)
Apparently, Peter Wolf (who composed this song) performed on a few Frank Zappa albums!
He was Christina a.k.a Ina Wolf's husband. They both successfully wrote many worldwide hits for many big artists in 80s.
I really like it. Nice performance. A great orchestra!
Israeli IBA orchestra , an era of quality in music. our great drumer: Meir Israel.
I love the fretless bass in this song!
Nevertheless, a very fine song. A true ESC classic.
Masterpiece! (I highly recommend hear the English version: it justifies the great song the entry is).
In german, the words have much more sense..
Nah, german is much better for songwriting.
like this entry even after 39 years. good. sexy woman.
Her hair has exploded...
2:47 I like this moment

Too much coffee? No, but too much alcohol - the saxophonist was dead drunk! 😂
for me the best Austrian song
I don't understand this kind of songs. Plenty of strange modulation constantly in the melody. And pretty boring.
Jorge Juan Rodríguez Ortega The only song in the history of the contest, I believe, which goes momentarily into a 9/16 time signature. :-)
An awful entry...i bet Austria has better ones
Dernière place et c'est mérité: que c'est ennuyeux et ridicule. une musique cacophonique.
Hehe, wirklich greißlich.
