    I never realized that me, se, nos, te and etc all were reflexive. Every other video or website does not explain it well! You made it clear and easy and I love that because "se" is a tricky word to use thank you! Please keep the grammar videos coming!

    OMG I want to cry, this video is sooooooo helpful, I even got my Spanish lecturer to show this video in her lecture. He estado aprendiendo español por 3 años por mi cuenta pero todavía me cuesta entender conjugar verbos y usar verbos reflexivos en oraciones. Saludos y amor desde el Reino Unido 🇬🇧 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

    one thing that confused me, and i think this will help people, is that "me, te, nos, os" are also used for a couple of other completely separate grammar points, direct and indirect object pronouns. the only difference are the "he/she/they" pronouns, but you can look into that.
    another point of confusion is that some words simply always take the reflexive form. unless im wrong here, "con flores te llevaste mi tristeza" isnt someone doing something to themself, yet it uses the reflexive form. thats because that specific verb is just always like that by default. a pronominal verb in the dictionary
    the last little point is when "se" is used like "se habla español", it really means "spanish is used" just generally. "Tú" se usa="Tú" is used(by people, in general). so it's kinda its own little thing.
    i got stuck because of these things so hopefully this helps someone else (^^♪

    Love your videos. Can you please have another on phrases? No me sale...No sirve...Cuanta sale.. etc, etc. Uses of poner.. like Pon a ride and pusieron la vacuna. Poner and salir have so many phrases that do not translate into English at all.

    Can you make any verb you want to reflexive just by adding the reflexive pronoun to it? (As long as the verb makes sense in context of course)

    • @SpeakSpanishFaster
      @SpeakSpanishFaster  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can... of course - if it makes sense. But like the verb hablar. The reflexive form hablarse, to talk to oneself is basically the same. So if it makes sense then yes you can. Obviously this may not be true for EVERY verb but a general rule of thumb is to use a reflexive verb or make a verb reflexive when referring to an action being done on oneself.

    A point that really helped me grasp reflexive verbs is that we all know two reflexive examples that we learn early on and use naturally now...me llamo and me gusta....in english we say "my name is" and "I like it", but every Spanish teacher explains that it's "I call myself" and "it pleases me".
    We know me gusta, te gusta, se gusta... other reflexive type verbs operate the same way.
    My other big problem was just figuring out direct object pronouns, indirect object pronouns and reflexive pronouns...always mixed then up but there are charts online and many bids that can clarify.
    Hope it helps connect the dots for others like it did for me. 👌

  • @afiaakos6937

    I wonder why 'comer'- "to eat" is not reflexive. The action of eating is also done by the subject to the subject. Literally you feed yourself. But its not reflexive

    I just feel like these verbs are so redundant. Like who else is doing the action? I’ve already conjugated the verb yet for some reason I still have to tell people I’m the one receiving the action? 🙃😭 literally my least favorite part of Spanish. Too many extra pronouns.
