- Wanted to make a video detailing and warning about some aspects of the MG Char's Zaku II. I love this figure, but some aspects of it are weighed down by Earth's gravity!

Just put my first MG kit together, and it's this one! I usually work with HG level kits, so I was expecting a huge learning curve and a more complex, delicate model but this was actually not bad at all and really solid. The hands are a pain to work with, but I like the idea since I hate having to keep track of spare hands, maybe if they made the fingers close more tightly instead of relying on the palm peg. Personally didn't have any issues with the snout, even without sanding, but I don't know if Bandai fixed it between 6 years ago and now. Probably gonna stick with HG kits from now on but this was a nice change of pace.
Remember the Fedies can't hit anything that's pink.
I like the way you reviewing gunpla, clear, honest for the weakness of the kit, and brought in with some tips. Nice!!!

Insanely late but the other fin belongs to the high mobility type Zaku IIs. I have no idea why it comes with this kit, but that's kind of neat I guess.
Really good review overall, it's nice to know exactly what I'm getting into with this thing.

Good on you telling about the problems holding the weapons. That would drive me nuts
I have gotten the green Zaku in between me making this video and now. Oddly enough the green does hold the weapons BETTER, but still not great.
The snout broke on mine too, though instead of breaking on that seam line, it snapped in half on the sides. Thankfully I was able to glue them back together, but I feel bad for others who can't.

Just a tip if you want to do it you can cut the three fingers that are connected to get individual finger articulation so you can create more cool poses with the hands

Great review! I really appreciate the close-up shots with helps greatly in showing the detail this kit has to offer. At 7:44 I am curious, would you be willing to part with the "mini lift vehicle" or know anyone that would be willing to part with just that vehicle, itself? Also, at 9:00 that is mostly used as the fin for the commander of the Black Tri-Stars.
I'm quite fond of the little lift-thingy, I display my painted Char on it. Hopefully you can find one!
And yeah, figured it was for them. Still a cool design, gives me more of a hardcore vibe. I display the RG Zaku with it all the time.

Cool beans. I looking to get at least two more for my stop-motion animations, so I'll keep on looking. The Black Tri-Stars, or Lt. Jurnior Grade antenna, does look pretty hardcore. I agree. =P
i love this moddel kit i really like it its a classic one problem is that the spring on the legs are really loose and are easy to loose and its a pain to put them on but other than that its a really good kit
There is one other master grade that you require. If you get an MG Char Zaku II, you also need an MG RX-78-2 Gundam

2.0 kits are simplistic because they are supposed to replicate the anime look unlike the RG kits

I prefer the peachy-red color for Char over the dark red the Origin does, so no. I love the purple Origin eye and lights though.
I personally own the mg chat zaku 2 and yeah the weapons do not stay in at all
Do you know how to get any 6 inch zaku figure? Or maybe like 7 inch I look for some but they are all 1/44 scale

I've always wanted to try Master Grades. I only build High Grades.
Same here. The only other Master Grade I want is the Dom (just to have my 3 fave mobile suits in 1/100). They're worth getting at least your fave Suit for sure. I still prefer High Grades for their affordability, character selection, and size.

Little known fact (even though I’m sure you already know about it) our lord and savior iDubbbz has or has had Gundam figures. I’d say that this probably means he’s a fan, because gundam figures aren’t exactly sold in stores.
I know he got a Revive HGUC RX-78-2 in a bad unboxing and said "I'll never have time to build this", so he knew what it was.
Has he shown/referenced Gundam elsewhere?

The Zock is on my list of kits to get. Need to finish my 1/144 original Mobile Suit Gundam collection with that, the Mass Prod. Z'Gok, and the G Armor.

It's a pretty lame flip off given how the middle, ring, and pinky fingers are connected. You CAN disconnect them from each other if you desire, so, yeah, he can.

I did too, which is why I got the MG 2.0 RX-78-2. I love the anime look personally.

I KNOW RIGHT. My cat tends to shed a lot and I've noticed some videos with the cat hair pretty prominent. It's hard to spot during filming, but nowadays I take measures to avoid it (like washing my hands before a video and blowing on the figures).

Many of Char's mobile suits are more of a salmon red color rather than the darker reds you see with his later suits like the Sazabi.
I hate the proportions, they are way to anime like. The origin HGs aren’t prefect(way too thin!) but they are much closer to the designs I like. Just my preference though.
I much prefer the surface detail of the HGTO.

Basically the only difference between this and an action figure is who's building it! lol I consider gunpla to be figures, but they're figure model kits, not straight up action figures.
