  • When an African prince and a white middle-class clerk from Lloyd's underwriters got married in 1948, it provoked shock in Britain and Africa. Seretse Khama met Ruth Williams while he was a student at Oxford University. After his studies, he was supposed to go home to the British Protectorate of Bechuanaland (now Botswana) and marry someone from his own tribe, but his romance with Williams changed everything. His family disapproved and Khama was forced to renounce his claim to the throne. The British government came under pressure to show its disapproval and Khama was exiled from his homeland. He later became the first president of Botswana when it became an independent country. Witness spoke to Ruth Williams's sister about the love that conquered prejudice.

Sometimes, our own "kind" doesn't even know how to love and treat us right. So as for me, I will always stand by this," my heart knows no bounds and my love doesn't see colour". One world, one people, one love. Peace

🤦🏿‍♀️Sometimes our own (women) have to take ownership for falling in love-choosing the wrong own kind.
Our own kind show signs of who they are if he treats his lovingly mom like a mom or callous and uncivil because she's been a MOTHER to him and a mom to her man.
How he treated his previous woman or other women. How he treated you (didn't want to accept the signs the rude remarks, the cheating, when he didn't give you his last bite of food or if you had to supply all his basic needs like his mother ) How he treats the help or our kind in general. If he treats descendants of cave dwellers than our kind.
If our own pass the test of all above signs listed and still mistreated you, he either wants a descendant of cave dwellers both genders or a man- of our own kind.
I have a own kind that treats me like a Queen.
However, history has shown us that descendant of cave dwellers are evildoers. Diabolical creatures. Everywhere they go they've colonized. They've created destruction and violent deaths. They want gore. They've raped, molested.
They are racist. They are unholy and ungrateful.
The have the wicked spirit of entitlement.
      They are venomous and bloodthirsty.
They act uncivilized and demonic especially to our kind-We are the Alpha and Omega of all civilizations. Even if, I chose the wrong own kind a would have search my soul and try to figure out why I chose him. Ask my Almighty Creator and our good ancestors known and unknown to guide me to choose
my own kind wisely next time.
If I was the last own kind on earth and left with either gender descendant of cave dwellers- I would be prepared to slaughter or slaughter 1st, because it would be a matter of time before that descendant of neanderthal tried to cut off my limbs or slaughtered me.
Please, excuse mistakes,my illness is the culprit for brain fog.

Alexandra Bolden No. black women don’t have to take ownership of anything black men do. Black sons need to be raised better instead of putting shit on the black woman. It’s getting increasingly annoying how wrong black women are treated by their own men.

@@audreyf9092 You misunderstood what I meant- No! Certainly not for his or anyone's wicked behavior, but take ownership to why they chose to stay when they've shown signs -When someone shows you who they are believe them- Mayo Angelou
I've known several or heard of our B(b)lack women who continue to get in toxic relationships.
My childhood friend of 35 years had been divorced for 10 years ( he never really loved her. He only he divorced her she didn't divorce him.
She didn't really know him, she met him via the telephone he was someone's military buddy.
He paid for her round trip flights to see him, they really didn't date much.
He was constantly in trouble, and his 1st SGT suggested he get married and settle down. So he married her only after 2months.
(He cheated on her all the time and with her friend who came to visit her) single mom of 2 started dating again, after their 1st enjoyable imitate encounter (at her home) he stayed away 3 weeks without calling, emailing or texting she told him before their encounter how self conscious and vulnerable she was about her body and being used.
He cheated throughout the relationship, and she witnessed him knocked his ex girlfriend's tooth out because she said something he didn't like.
He didn't have a job,his own place or car. He lived with his mother he treats like a good mom because she coddles him and condones his evilness.
He can do no wrong in his mom's eyes. Hell, evidently my friend's eyes
Well, because my friend loves/loves him so much (why I've never understood ) she finally married him 5 years later on Valentine's Day. Even though, she's providing all his needs for like she's his mommy and he's been demonic to her.
On the day of their 1st anniversary he left her for a girl he had a CRUSH on in middle school. He left my friend and rubbed it in her face with candy and flowers he brought with my friend's money for his middle school CRUSH.
My friend fell apart. She had signs before getting married
He never worked,he almost choked my friend to death because she told him he needed to get a job so can contribute, stop using her money and car to date his side chick/hens.
She couldn't function as mom or on her job.
We all chipped in with the care of her children and bills. Her job didn't terminate her because she was always a good and dependable worker. (She would have been, but she had to so she pay for everything) Her boss never like her sociopathic husband. So,they gave her 90 days to get herself together. Unfortunately his demon possessed a$$ returned like 2 months later after the middle school CRUSH (they never had sex) used him until her husband returned from somewhere( no one knows from where)
My friend 17 years later her older, her 2 children have babies of their on.
She has two sons with this evil nut, 12 and 14 witnessing daily tornadoes, hurricanes and occasionally a Tsunami. She's still the only worker,he still cheats and use her money for whatever he wants.
Back to why I made that statement
I still wouldn't date, marry or marry not nan descendant of violent neanderthal. Generation after generations
DIRECTLY and indirectly they are all complicit of upholding the atrocities done unto our people
Again, please, excuse any and all mistakes,my illness is the culprit for my brain fog

In heaven... They are both dead...
The President passed away in 1980 and his wife in 2002...
This is among one of the famous love stories of the British Empire, when racism, due to Apartheid.... The whites(then) just could not marry their sons/daughters to a black man of no importance(actually he would go on to be one)
The reason that Britain intervened on the issues is due to.... SOUTH AFRICA
Now, you see, Britain was developing its nuclear program, and they need uranium for that, and it turns out, South Africa has one of the largest reserves of this commodity on the plant🌍🌍🌍, so it needed it's support
The other thing is, despite South Africa being an independent country, it would have provided its resources as part of the Empire and Commonwealth, as well as the leverage to extract as well... So to lose both of these leverages would not be an ideal situation....
But despite, literally pressure from the UK(a great power), South Africa and its local tribes, they persevered, despite Seretse's exile, they continued their romantic life and started a family...
      UNCONDITIONAL LOVE..
That is the aliment to prevent broken families no more....

Someone very close to me (white woman) had to end their relationship with a wonderful black man in about 1970 bc he got beaten badly & put in hospital for being with her. They loved each other. She didn't want him or her children she already had to get killed, terrorized, destroyed by stress, unable to get jobs etc. So she ended the relationship, which was very painful. He wanted to make it work. I hate that their love had to end. What encouragement do you specifically need? I will give it! 💜💙💛

Shatteringly moving. Thank you, Muriel, for recounting your sister's story, which must have been painful to revisit. For the support that you and your family gave Ruth. Above all, for showing this generation (at a time when doubts are being cast) how demonstrably ingrained was racism in the British establishment, even within my living parents' youth. Churchill (controversially censured as a racist) was arguably more ruefully sympathetic in his summation: 'brave. But he was accurate. I was slack-jawed, seeing how our government persecuted this attractive and charismatic and couple, even after their marriage. Still more revolting was the attitude of the Church, that had brought them together, yet which took measures so fundamentally contrary to Christ's teachings. A few years later, no doubt inspired by Ruth's courage, the daughter of a white British Cabinet minister, Sir Stafford Cripps, would make the same defiant decision. She married a Ghanaian Nkhose, Kwame Appiah. Their children - including a Stamford professor - flourish today, as your nephew flourished and did good. Be vigilant, in rejecting the cowardly lies of prejudice, and in excoriating its deniers. Only then will the cruelties of 'race' and 'religion' be torched. Brides will no longer be bullied. Grooms will all be kings.

There was another political angle: In the race for nuclear power and the atomic bomb, the UK was getting Uranium from South Africa, and South Africa threatened to withhold it for that reason. So, given that issue, that was why Churchill turned against it when he became prime minister (apparently he was supportive previously). However, Seretse was fortunately very cunning, renouncing the throne but instigating democracy, and then becoming president. It's a great shame he didn't live for that long afterwards though.
