  • Unreleased version footage of my Sante Fe Dalton Pass Joyride
    From San Jose City to Aritao Nueva Vizcaya. This was the prelude to the Benguet Nueva Vizcaya Road Joyride I did.
    This is a part of the Ah26 (Asian highway 26) road or Maharlika Highway. This is also going to Cagayan Valley, Isabela and Tuguegarao City. One of the busiest zig zag roads because of big trucks passing here, delivering goods. There were a lot of road improvements here as there are road widening done. The only not nice part was along Santa Fe area.
    Road Condition - Paved Roads. Some are wide
    Drive thrill - Challenge to overtake big trucks!
    Security - there are many houses and small towns along the road
    Rating: 4/5 :-D
    From Wikipedia
    Dalton Pass, also called Balete Pass, is a zigzag road and mountain pass that joins the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya, in central Luzon island of the Philippines.
    The summit of the mountain pass is at around 3,000 feet (910 m) in elevation,located where the Caraballo Sur (mountain range) and the Sierra Madre (mountain range) meet. The headwaters of the Digdig River originate just south of the pass. Balete Ridge starts two miles to the west-northwest of the pass, with a high point at Mt. Imugan (5,580 feet), and extends nine miles to the east-southeast, where it ends at Mt. Kabuto (4,600 feet )
    Dalton Pass is a gateway to the Cagayan Valley, and the Ifugao Rice Terraces.

We also went to Appari next day then Ilocos and Baguio the next next. It was exhausting but exciting journey. Thanks sa mga info niyo sir. Unfortunately di dumating yung inorder naming dashcam sayang

    I had drove this very same road, but before that pinanuod ko video mo over and over again. It help me a lot kasi i know na what to expect. It was last Dec 2014, the roads are fine kaya lang totoo pala na nakaktakot yung mga trucks, they are like an elephants pero mga pagong kung lumakad, pero it seems that incoming drivers are anticipating narin yung mga nag o-over take kaya they adjust na rin their speed. I never had a problem except yung dalawang truck na nasiraan going both ways, akala ko nga aabutin kami ng gabi sa daan. And because of that, i thought of not going back the same way pero everytime I watch your video about this route, i was encourage to go back again. But probably i should drive suv para mas may lakas.Thanks sa effort for sharing your videos, I wish i could corraborate with you. will be repurchasing a dashcam ksi nasira yung nabili ko before ako mag travel. ingat lagi! God bless your driving.

    As always, the Philippine countryside is so beautiful. I really wish we had drivers with your skills in the USA. In the USA slow drivers are required to use turnouts, but they never do and the police don't enforce it. The drivers are too afraid or incompetent to overtake. If this were a road in the USA, you would see 30+ cars behind slow moving trucks and none of them would try to overtake..... And then you would end up on the end of that line.... And to overtake 30 cars, imposible

    Im a new driver and only been driving for almost 3 months. I have experience with Tagaytay twice, Rizal Twice and Bolinao Pangasinan recently. We will have a trip next week to our province Santiago, Isabela. Base on what I just mentioned. Do you advised me to travel at night? Is Dalton Pass dangerous at night let alone for new driver? I am confident though but what can you advise?

    • @dmitrivalencia
      @dmitrivalencia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dalton pass become dangerous due to the big trucks that come along with you and sometimes you have no choice but to do an overtake. Driving at night has pros and con. One of the pros is less cars along the road while i do not encourage you to use the santiago tuguegarao road at night and instead use ah26. One time i almost hit a carabao in the middle of a dark road. On daytime in case of emergency there will be people who can help you along the way.

      @@dmitrivalencia Thanks for your timely reply. I really appreciate it. Im one of those who tuned in from first video of your Skyway update to the most recent as well as the lrt 2 at SM Masinag. Anyway, what exactly do you mean by ah-26? I have no idea what that is. Also based on my experience since I was a kid (I really love Florida GV though they are fast! Lol) I dont remember altenative road except for the road en route by those bus lines.

    I think it's about time for our government to consider construction of an expressway going to Cagayan Valley to shorten travel time just like they did for Ilocos Region which is TPEX...

    if you have a driver like this it will put you into grave.he violates a lot of rules in the roads like over speeding,this is not a highway you must not run like that,he keep over taking also in a yellow lanes and in a solid white lane,passing through the pedestrian lanes,schools hospitals without slowing down, your the man dude 100%bad driver.thats why every day alot of roads accident happen in our country.

    • @dmitrivalencia
      @dmitrivalencia  9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      well it depends on what kind of driver would drive your car. If your driver does not know what he or she is doing then you will be going to your grave in no time. As for the yellow lanes etc... Maybe you have been staying too long in some foreign land. This is how people driver here and of course you should be alert. Try driving here without overtaking big trucks. As for speeding, be informed that you cannot speed here in dalton pass because of the winding curves, the video fps was adjusted fyi. A lot of road accidents happen here is because of poor car maintenance and driver failure. Thanks for calling me a bad driver, your so kind mr hoodlum.

      (Asian Highway 26 (AH26)).
      Been driving here since early 2000, if you don't overtake those giant trucks for sure you stay forever on the road. They speed up only to 5 - 10 Kph so if you are driving from Manila to Tuguegarao City it will take 15 hours or more (5 hours more than the regular travel time). But driving here needs a lot of precautions, experience and familiarization of the road.
