It was a dark Monday yesterday without this show, but it is officially a tremendous Tuesday now that this has been posted. Hope you recover expediently Fitz!
I live in Finland and found the idea so odd that someone would train in their outdoors shoes. I feel like that's just not allowed here or there's nobody who would do it so you never see it.
people expecting lasha to compete after this are just as insane as those who said he’d total 500 during his paris prep. actually they were probably the same people.
Question: I have issues with rotator cuffs in back squats and just eschew them. If I just held the bar in that snatch grip or something like that (Thor) does it take the pressure of those muscles since those far fingers are not rotated outwards to hold the bar?
i swear if half of the power lifting talent in the USA actually tried and committed to olympic weightlifting. the USA would be so much more competitive. its a shame that none of them have that exposure or want to try. its an olympic sport, powerlifting is not.
1) Why would anyone switch to Olympic lifting if they’re already a world class powerlifter and making money that way? 2) Being a good powerlifter doesn’t 100% translate to Olympic lifting, it would take some time for them to be really competitive at it. 3) Not everyone who’s good at powerlifting has the leverages to execute the Olympic lifts with high efficiency. Olympic lifting demands a very particular build. Assuming an athlete was even interested in making the switch, there wouldn’t be much in it for them.
@@thalloutboy 1. i am not saying particularily they should switch. im just commenting on the fact that in the US there is an overwhelming majority of strength talent in power lifting and not olympic weightlifting. 2. yes, again, its too late for the elites. im saying the youth talent. 3. true, but i think in the USA we have a diverse population and with a greater emphasis on the sport, we definitely could field talent with ideal builds. my point is the USA has so much potential but its all in powerlifting and bodybuilding
Does doing deadlifts behind the back make it easier? Evidently it does for Jippin. But more so than doing sumo does for some people? Probably not. It's no less impressive than Wierzbicky's 502.5.

Daire with the quarterly near death illness
It was a dark Monday yesterday without this show, but it is officially a tremendous Tuesday now that this has been posted.
Hope you recover expediently Fitz!
@@robjaniszewski2841 well said!
Get better soon, grateful for the episode!
Man's trying to set a record for overcoming the most sickness.
@@Bombsuitsandkilts New PB?
What esoteric illness has Daire contracted this time? The black plague? Typhoid? Polio?
The fact that he's mentioned being ill at all means all three at once, at least!
Let’s gooooo nice job filling in big D!
Once you have to question if it is power or not, it isnt power.
It is

thanks for the video Daire
That's an old Thor video. That was from when he was traveling in Canada prior to SMOE
BTB means behind the back. Alternate name is a Hack Deadlift (from the original hack squat as created by Hackenshmidt).
Does it work your posterior chain and is it useful because I’ve experimented with it and it’s OK although I do feel it more on my quads
@@MrAlex- it is more quad orientated as I understand. The posterior chain is still worked though.
@@Rorschachs_Bloat 🙏
Am sick, strangely comforts me seeing Daire is sick too. Get better soon!
14:33 that 220 is f'ing mental (also props to Fitz doing this half sick; I trained in the same state yesterday lol)
Not seeing anyone argue against btb deads being legit deadlifts
I hope the boogz comments on the behind the back deadlift.
Get better!!! Thank you.

When it's not conventional and it's not sumo, I call it the shaw stance
idk if it's just my brain hurting after squats but mic is clipping a bit
