  • I don’t sell not buy. We’ve just had this convo to spread awareness.
As to the “bubbles”, all you have to do this is shake the two bottles at the same time . One being the original and one being the assumptive fake, shake them at the same time, you would see that the original would have much more and longer bubbles than the fake ones.
    Drink responsibly! ✌️🥃

This isn’t entirely reliable. Single malt scotch is produced in much smaller volumes than blends or big name bourbons, so there is a “batch” element to each release that can result in variation of color and darkness of the liquid. I wouldn’t rely on that variable in your test of authenticity.

You are entitled to your opinion. ✌️ but for me, this makes so much sense.

@MirrorMonolith is right. The Macallan is natural color. Following your logic the fake manufacturers could just add color to make the whisky darker to fool you. I would even assume faked dark whiskys are more common than lighter colored. @@DaeBoy1921

Except that The Macallan Distillery is not bottling their whisky but the whisky is transferred by tanker trucks near Glasgow where The Edrington Group (Macallan, Highland Park, Famous Grouse etc.) has a bottling factory. Even the most expensive and prestigious whiskies worth millions of pounds per bottle are filled there and not at the distillery. The same is true to almost all distilleries.

Question: why would an online seller sell a fake bottle of expensive scotch for a ridiculously low price, when that fake bottle could bring a price equal or close to that of a genuine bottle of that scotch?

Volume, if fakes sell for the same as real then why buy a fake?

@@DaeBoy1921 I think whisky peaks out at 15-18 years, after that they’re losing flavor as far as I’m concerned.
