Abigail, even though you say don't breed, it is important to breed sometimes, though i agree that you shouldn't breed excessively, or for colors until you are at least at lvl 15.
In breeding the coats actually are not randomised, the horses have hidden genes that can effect their offspring. This might not be in desktop yet but it is on mobile,

Amazing tips Abi! Tho it is harder to play on moblie since you have 2 different curencies and max how many times you can race untill energy is gone (if you dont buy energy). Also, on mobile you cant create Costume horses (maybe they will add it).
The breeding thing,I agree. Some how I got the most beautiful coats when on lower levels. Chestnuts,paints and duns,with a grade 2 then I breed a grade 3 horse all bays,but one beautiful blue eyed chestnut horse

So this is a goal/quest. I have to race my rival at Parson's. His horse, Cruel Edge, is only lvl 8. My horses are all lvl 10 (max is 15/15) and their stats are above his. However, he is not only still winning, my horses are still placing 8th or even dead last. A few races, his horse was boxed in, dead last and he still won. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong as I changed my tactics on how I play several times. Breed for a lvl 3 or 4 horse. Max it past lvl 8 or 10 Max it's stats past 70 (at most 80 preferred) Try and get the sprint (my game lags so this often doesn't happen/work) Keep to the rail so as not to get overly boxed in - horses in front will eventually drop back Hold my position on the rail Hold my sprint charge for last - was told the last 220m then sprint (this hasn't worked) And even if you place 3rd, you're still beating the goal/quest as you have to place 3rd or higher to move from lvl 5 as a player Now, I've done all the above. I've raced each time myself in all the training races. Maxed my horse's stats (I can't upgrade my facilities any further because I'm cited to complete more goals in order to upgrade) and I've done, pretty much everything I can think of (even bought a wifi booster). But nothing's worked and I'm again, stuck on lvl 5 as a player. Any tips?
Heres a tip for the people that play mobile (might not work for apple) download Google play. You will earn points for racing, ect and if your having a really hard time leveling up getting a certain amount of points you will level up

I’m on 12 gold right now after all the breeding buying and skipping lol, But as I’m a seasoned jockey, the betting thing is terrific. Don’t have betting available yet.
Me who hardly ever races myself on my main and has over 200mil 👁👄👁 I would personally recommend hiring jockeys when you have around 20mil :D (edit: and a maxed out grade 10!)
in the mobile version you can't because there are silver coins and when you race you get those, so it is harder to be a millionare in GOLD coins, but i think this method still works a bit without the betting part
I have stopped playing rival stars even though it is the best game I have ever played and I love it ! But I play on x box one and the homestead says it’s next delivery is in 300 days ?! And I have left it for a mont and restarted the console and it just says 270 days left
I'm not sure racing a horse until you've made back what it cost is worth it if you don't plan on keeping it. In the same time you are running a horse on easier tracks to get XP to train it (which costs gold and items) you could be running your highest trained horse in the highest level tracks you have access too and make a lot more money in the same time. So while you loose money on the other horse you would end up with more money if you cut your losses and grind with your good horse. Like I'm prestige 20, I hover around 20mil gold because I don't really have a need to save up. If I breed a foal it can only be trained up to level 18 without racing. So I pay for training. Then I can only race them in lower races making maybe 200k a run. I could do 8 races with that horse to make up the million gold he cost to breed and train, or I could sell him instantly and race his dam who's fully trained eight times at Queen Victoria and have 8mil, covering the loss I made on the foal and leaving me with 7mil extra to breed more foals. Granted this is a bit extreme since I have Queen Victoria unlocked but the same concept applies at lower levels.

Well, I have to say, I have 26 hours in playing the game after buying it two days ago. And I have over 50 million gold and am Prestige 17 in the story. And, I did EVERYTHING that you said NOT to do. I used quick buy for when I didn't have the items and I paid jockeys to race my horses for me over half the time. I busted my butt getting 25 million to buy a max level custom horse. And after that gold just rolled in. It's just what works for every individual and there is no set way to play the game. It's a great game though, I've been looking for one like it for a long time.

On mobile the mane money is silver thats what u get for races etc the only way to get gold is to do the quest things and levels 😢
i think you have to be a certain Prestige level to be able to do certain things.

I think bidding is only for the desktop version. If you have a Steam account and are willing to pay *don't choke* $40 then you will be able to bid!

quick tip: put one of your horses as riding horses, you get more tack and food than in races

On the mobile you have silver and gold, and gold is a lot more difficult to get than silver
How did you get grade 10 horses? I got the game today and got to a grade 3 horse..
Upgrading your foal stalls, and getting to higher prestige, on mobile I was on the 9th and I was starting to breed grade 5's, looking for grade 6's

They need to change the mobile game and make it easier to get coins or make everything cost silver since silver is so easy to get on mobile.
I prefer PC version. I do have the phone version but will be deleting it.
