    Great tips for any Spring River run! Sometimes they like when you anchor other times better drifting down or upriver slow like you said. Well done, thanks!

      Me? Talking too fast? Nah… 😆 in the northland there’s no time to talk slow - too darn cold! 😂 haha but in all seriousness - appreciate the feedback! It’s hard for me to slow down, especially when I am passionate about something!

    That's some good information on that river . Like your thinking on using different jigs and crankbait. I definitely agree how People can be a bunch of pigs and leave garbage laying wherever.. Nice job on video and good luck fishing.. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🎣🎣

    This was an awesome video!
    I'd like to know if this is like bumper boat, combat fishing? Or is there room to spread out?

    • @tjsguideservice

      Much appreciated! It varies a lot depending on time of year/weather/etc. but it is often pretty packed. Always places do get away from people but not always fish there! Haha

    Grate video once again. Think the jig is northland whistler jig . Have a ?? On the carbon x what have found and preferences with the the washers the send with the reel how many do you add under your spool.

    • @tjsguideservice
      @tjsguideservice  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate it, Troy! Yep - that’s the jig! I would use the reel as is and see how the line lays first. I have never had an issue, so I never have needed to add washers!

    Awsome video been looking for a video like this for long time very informative.
    Question is there any places to fish from shore I can’t afford a guide or a boat

    • @tjsguideservice
      @tjsguideservice  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you enjoyed! I have never personally done it, but I have seen people fishing from shore. Typically where there is the steepest break close to shore. Just be sure you are on public land if you do. Good luck!

    Good Video. On your 6 foot vertical rod did you say you use a 2000 size Reel? I used to use the 2000 reel on my 63 Rod. I found it a bit heavy on vertical jigging all day so I went down to a 1000 like it a lot better

    • @tjsguideservice
      @tjsguideservice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have switched over the 1000 size reel on my 6’ ML rod because I am using a lighter presentation so it feels more balanced, but in my 6’ M rod I am using heavier jigs, so the 2000 size seems to still feel a little better. I may end up switching to a 1000 size reel for my 6’ M too, but for now I still like the 2000!

    Hey TJ, thanks for the great info! Say, I'm in the market to buy a new rod (I broke one already this spring). I have never heard of Rosemore rods but am planning to look further into them. Do you have any discount codes for them that would benefit both you and others? Would love to give you a cut! Thanks!

      Appreciate the kind words! If you use code TJ10 you get 10% off your order! They are awesome rods with a good warranty - let me know if you have any questions on the rods. Hope this helps!

    Great video. I am planning to put in my kayak on the 🇨🇦 side closing day next week (it's been a rough winter). The one question I have is how far up the river do the walleye run? I am afraid I will launch above some of the rapids that may be a barrier for walleye. Do they run up the entire length or are they blocked by Manitou rapids? It's the one question I have never found a solid answer on. Cheers.

      Appreciate it! 👊
      I typically don’t fish too much east of the rapids because it is a farther drive. I have heard of guys catching fish up there that they believe were spawners from the lake, but I haven’t experienced it. There will always be some local fish around. I have fished around Pelland before and caught fish, but those were all local from what I could tell. Either way, there is definitely some fish to be caught up there and much less pressure! I’m excited to hear how you do. Good luck!

      @@tjsguideservice weather looks like shit on Thursday. So I will have to go this weekend instead. I kinda wanted to avoid the weekend traffic but it is what it is.
      When you say the Rapids do you mean Manitou or the Rapids by Franz Jevne? I am coming from the east so its the opposite for me. I would have to drive further but if I must I would drive all the way to Rainy River, ON across from Baudette.... if the river is open. This is my first time fishing this river so I am trying to get as much research done as possible. Mother nature is throwing too many wild cards lol. Thanks for the response!!! New subscriber 😉

      @@differentfins this weekend is going to be a complete zoo! I’ll be heading up there, too!
      I am talking Manitou. Good call on getting research done ahead of time! Honestly, if you are fishing with a kayak, I would try to stay East and away from boat traffic. It is so packed and not a lot of space on the river that a kayak might be dangerous. I have seen them out there before, but just a word of caution because I have seen people in smaller boats almost get hit. Can get crazy!
      Appreciate it! Just subbed your channel too!

      @@tjsguideservice well hopefully most of the boats will be on the USA side. Should be much more quiet on the north side. I was thinking about fishing Manitou but not sure if the big girls would be up there yet. I am going to launch at Pinewood (between Clementson and Frontier).
