  • From the infamous and exclusive University Women's Club in Mayfair, London... as part of the JW interview in 1988...
One can say that at this point in time, Master Winwood was at the peak of his commercial popularity... A great acoustic Piano track showcasing his virtuosity on the instrument. I distinctly recall from a separate interview where he said something along the lines of : "I think perhaps Elton John is a better Piano player than I am, but possibly I am a better Hammond Organ player than him..."
As you can all suspect, I would disagree with this... :)
    Enjoy Loud...

Such a beautiful arrangement of a woefully underplayed and truly exceptional song of Steve's. Thanks for posting this gem!

I think this may actually be the best song from Roll With It. It was a Top 10 single. But it gets almost no radio airplay today. I wonder why.

I would say RWI was the best song, this got stigma “Michelob” but a good one .

Well.... actually, I would have to say, musically the most challenging and evocative track is THE MORNING SIDE... but hey thats just me...:)

@@FreeCorps1984 I love "One More Morning!" It plays too quietly on the album, though - I always have to turn it up. ;)

I went to Las Vegas in the fall of '88 and an R&B band from the South played "Holding On" in all their shows at the casino I stayed at. They were great and I thanked them for playing it.
Yeah, Steve is a Hammond Master too over 30 years later 😎

Para mi es un gran maestro pianista británico de todo los tiempos. Con el tema no sabes que la noche se puede hacer? en versión en piano me encanto muchisimo como cualquier hombre compone canciones más bellas del mundo

I have been playing the piano for many years and have enjoyed it immensely. I teach as well. But I wish I had Steve Winwood's talent and respect for the beauty that flows from his fingers when he plays his music. Bravo!
