Do you offer a hard case for the mounting storage options? Mike mentioned that he has to take it off if he's going down a trail with a lot of limbs, that honestly seems rather burdensome... a hard case for exterior mounting would therefore be a much better option. Also, are the bungee straps necessary? can't you make the arms so that they have a spring-loaded locking pin to hold them in place? no offense, but again having those bungee straps running everywhere seems burdensome.
Ive actually had my truck down some very brushed in trails and bumped up against a few trees, the soft cover is holding up very well I was surprised, the two straps that hold it open yes they are a couple more steps but once it's in place it's very secure.
I'm not sure if they make a hard shell version.
@@hummerownersofamerica Quite a lot of tension is needed, so this is the system on pretty much every 270/180 awning on the market today. As for a hard case, this does exist (only for straight pull out awnings) but adds a lot of weight and complexity. We've dragged ours along trees and branches and barely left a mark in the cover - plus, they are cheap to replace if damaged. I do like your ideas, but they'd probably make the awning cost 3x as much :(
