What a fabulous show. Jack was such a talented actor/showman. It's a drag that he left us at such an early age. His "Columbo" appearances were some of the best.

What a coincidemce that bisexual Jack Cassidy was in "Something for the Boys" . And then Ethel refers to him as a chorus girl ! To which he replies I could play both parts!!!

Dinah was ahhhmazing. She has a talk show in and off for 30 years! I'm sure alot of the reason it wasn't 30 years straight thru is because she was a woman.

Its New York. Great voices, great actors and great dancers all trained by the 'best' are as commonplace as sidewalks. That stuff just did not cut it to hold a job on Broadway. You can't replace a Merman, a Mostel, a Channing, a Morse or a Verdon with mere talent and craft. You have to provide a paying New Yorker with something much more rare - an original!

Thank you for this amazing clip, Alan.
I Was living in New York in the 70s when this show was filmed. In fact, I used to take Ethel Merman to the dentist (Dr. Charig on Central Park West)

Dima Androgynous it wasn't the tape.. just the machines..they usually jammed or wrinkled if you tried to do too much with them fast forwarding then stop ..reversing...gurrrenteed to break..

31:30 Why is Phil Silvers busting Jack Cassidy's chops?

Cassidy was so insufferable and annoying I had to stop watching. Constantly interrupting and bringing the focus back to him. Morse and Lee look like they're drunk.
