Great video as always. I haven't done much detecting over the last year or so, so it's good to get back into it. Your videos provide so much knowledge and inspiration to keep going.
Hi BK and Eliza, thanks for your great video series. I have learnt so much from them. The need to search thoroughly and slowly, to listen for feint signals and to be persistent and enduring. Fantastic. You have put so much effort into producing these videos and deserve all the success that comes your way. Good on you mates.
Great camping trip and some fantastic gold nuggets, can't beat camping in the central Victorian bush. Thanks for sharing and you have a new sub. Cheers, Pete
I’ve watched almost all your videos now. I wish my wife was interested in gold detecting😞! Can I ask a personal question? I note you have the top of the line detectors. Have they paid themselves off?
Hi Reece, I have paid off my detectors but wouldn’t say detecting pays a wage. :) A lot of hard work with the occasional rewards. We normally cover all expenses.
@@BKGoldDetecting oh yes, I understand that a wage probably wouldn’t be on the cards. I have an Equinox 800 and been out to the Warwick gold fields a few times with no luck. Your videos have really been helpful. Thanks you for the time you put in!
Hi, I have watched all 5 of your finding your first gold nugget vids. To me it has been very informative. We are heading to WA at the end of March. I'm sure your info will be very helpful. 2DFERS Dennis & Donna.
@@BKGoldDetecting My wife and I have never been to WA. My mate Crouch of "The Surfing Prospector" was over there last year, did ok while still learning the area. I think he is planing to stick to the pending grounds as well. We are leaving about the 25th of March and thinking about heading way up north from Kalgoorlie, away from the tourist, even though we are just that. Would be great to share a camp for a night or two. 2DFERS Dennis & Donna
Good video. Can I make a suggestion about future content - perhaps a video on how you tune your gpz 7000 and your thought process as you are doing it. Most videos don't show live tuning rather they only say what settings they're using.
Great video BK! You put the fun into prospecting with your happy, "Don't quit" approach. What settings do you run your SP01 at? I like the stereo signal spitting setting. Number 2 I think. The two signals - left and right - seem to be just out of phase from one another and create a richer tone in the headphones. Thanks for the helpful information and yours and Elisa's efforts. :)
Thanks Sean, I’m no expert on the SP01, but I was running it on mode 2 and filter 1. I was very impressed so will take the time to learn a bit more about it before the next trip.
@@BKGoldDetecting Good on you BK. I'm still learning how to use mine with the GPZ and WM12 too. I recently started using it the same way as you do - on number 2, volume on half and controlled by the main volume control in the Z. It produces a rich tone. Thanks again for your efforts and may the gold come our way! :)
Hi mate, love your videos. When you are looking for a spot, do you just head to a general area and drive around? Or do you go on geovic looking for old workings?
A bit of both Nic, I do some research on an area and then drive around looking for “signs”. I love workings close to a gully with heaps of ironstone thrown in. Most of the spots I detect are well known and heavily detected. I love seeing old detector holes, they are signposts to gold.
That booster , does it boost the power of your detector , or does it boost the volume for the headphones ? I mean , does the booster plug into the headphone socket and then the headphones plug into the booster ?
The headphones plug into the output of the booster, there is a cable from GPZ to the input of the booster. I’m still experimenting with the booster, from what I’ve read it enhances the signal, not just volume control. Next trip out I will do some testing with samples.
@@BKGoldDetecting So enhances the sound like say a graphic equalizer might do. sounds a bit like black magic voodoo stuff going on there but if it works for you then it works for you. Obviously the output wasn't enough to move the inbuilt pissy speaker , so headphones on their own would have to help , and the booster if maybe the headphones are of poorer quality
@@BKGoldDetecting One thing about some of us old blokes , our hearing is affected by frequency degeneration over the years , like , I cannot hear frequencies above say 10 kHz so a boost in that area can only help
@@mohammednovalija I’m inclined to think the headphones made the most difference. Too early to say on the booster, I need to do some controlled testing. Headphones are grey ghost so pretty good.
@@BKGoldDetecting Thanks for sharing your hard work - I myself do not detect , am a creek rock washer , but god bless you and your family for your generosity

Fantastic to see you guys out again and thanks for the quality video :)
Great job. What kind of headphones are you using if you don’t mind me asking? Thank you. Enjoying watching your videos guys

Great videos mate, really informative 👍
Thanks for you video. Can you go through your detecting set up. You’re harness, backpack, belts, pick holder, etc. Would make a good video.
Sounds like an idea for another video :) I’ll keep that in mind.

@@BKGoldDetecting great! Yeah that’s true. The best ground I ever came across was in kingower. Nice red clay littered with ironstone infused quartz.
